• • • Qualifications: Requirement: Degree in Agricultural Engineering, Master's in Agronomic Engineering, or a related degree. A master's in irrigation, hydraulics or water resources, or in precision agriculture, remote sensing and GIS, data science or IoT applied to water or the sector will be valued. A completed or ongoing doctorate, preferably in these subject areas, will also be valued.
• • • Knowledge and/or experience: Requirement: knowledge of crop water requirements, irrigation programming, design and management of irrigation facilities, fertigation, and water quality. No minimum experience is required; the position is open to recent graduates. Experience in R&D projects, companies, consultancy, or research related to irrigation, hydraulics, or water resources will be valued.
• • • IT knowledge: Proficiency in at least one GIS or data analysis tool will be valued, as well as specialization in digitalization applied to irrigation, in one or several of the following areas: sensor networks; remote sensing with satellite and drone imagery, including platforms; programming and data analysis, with knowledge of databases, visualization, and machine learning; IoT and agronomic data management platforms.
• • • Complementary training and experience in digitalization: Courses or certifications in these subjects will be valued, as well as demonstrable experience in irrigation digitalization or water management projects (sensor deployment, development of decision support tools, dashboards, or predictive models), remote sensing and satellite indices, modeling, etc.

The new laboratory at the Las Palmerillas Experimental Station was inaugurated on June 19, 2025, coinciding with the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the station, which was founded in 1975. It features facilities prepared for development.

The FGC Board of Trustees approved four lines of work for the new laboratory:

1. 1. Recovery, regeneration, and improvement of the health and quality of agricultural soil through the use of organic matter, microbiome management, and the development of regenerative agriculture, contributing to climate change mitigation.
2. 1. Development and evaluation of bioproducts for use as biofertilizers, biostimulants for aerial or root development, biocontrol agents for pests, diseases, weeds, or to stimulate plant response to biotic or abiotic stress.
3. 1. Development of the circular economy through the valorization of biomass from the agri-food chain, diversifying activity and value generation through the obtaining of bioactive substances, biopolymers, or different bioproducts.
4. 1. Food development incorporating new processing and preservation strategies and technologies, as well as new functional ingredients of natural origin, to contribute to balanced diets adapted to different population groups.

As part of the Foundation's Water area team, you will participate in R&D&i in sustainable water management in agriculture, with special attention to irrigation efficiency and its digitalization:

• • • • Participate in the design, execution, and analysis of trials and projects in irrigation, fertigation, water efficiency, and the use of non-conventional waters in experimental centers.
      • Develop the area's irrigation digitalization line: sensor networks, remote sensing, data analysis, and decision support tools.
      • Collaborate in the preparation of proposals for competitive calls and in project management.
      • Provide technical support to the startups of the Cajamar Innova ecosystem in the water field: identify sector challenges, design and supervise the validation of their technologies in experimental centers and under real cultivation conditions, and evaluate their results to facilitate their transfer and adoption.
      • Transfer results to the sector through workshops, technical and scientific publications, and outreach content.
      • Progressively assume the coordination of projects, budgets, and people, according to the training and development plan.

Water area Technician with an individual training and development plan of about three years: integration and training (year 1), consolidation coordinating a project or line such as irrigation digitalization (year 2), and preparation for leadership (year 3).
