The role
We are looking for a senior N2 Platform Support Engineer for the Video Operations team, responsible for diagnosing, mitigating, and documenting video platform incidents (global backend and OTT devices) that N1 cannot resolve, and for protecting the production service 24/7.
N2 Platform Support Engineer (Video Operations).
Global Video Operations N2 Team.
The N2 is the point where it is decided whether a problem is resolved with a known operation, mitigated with a production change, or escalated to L3 with the diagnosis already completed. We expect independent judgment, autonomy to find the root cause, and discipline in procedures.
What you'll do
The selected person will cover seven areas of work, with service stability and resolution time as priorities.
1. Incident analysis following N1 triage. Review metrics, logs, and traces of the affected applications, isolate the root cause, coordinate via chat with Devices and Development, and open the corresponding Jira when appropriate.
2. Production work. Execute configuration changes requested by other teams and support the deployment of fixes and releases alongside Engineering and DevOps, always evaluating the impact and the rollback plan beforehand.
3. Documentation. Maintain service recovery procedures in Confluence and write postmortems for impactful incidents: root cause, applied solution, and preventive actions.
4. Review of production work. Supervise all changes made in the production environment, whether as the executor or a participant, to maintain full visibility of what is being modified.
5. Monitoring review. Detect deficiencies, request and specify new monitoring, validate it before a new component reaches production, and, together with N1, report alerting failures.
6. Operational feedback to Engineering and Development. Convey operability requirements (observability, alerts, rollback) before each deployment so that functionalities reach production without operational deficiencies.
7. Continuous improvement and automation. Convert repetitive tasks into scripts or secure, repeatable validations without embedded credentials, and propose process improvements to the team.
The N2 is expected to escalate to L3 with a full diagnosis when the problem exceeds their technical or permission scope, and to never execute risky changes without evaluating the impact on production.
How you'll work
Working hours plus 24x7 on-call rotation.
The person will join the Platform N2 on-call rotation, which covers the global backend and OTT devices, with response to alerts outside of working hours via PagerDuty.
Availability to connect and work remotely during the on-call shift, decision-making capacity under pressure, clear communication during the incident, and a focus on restoring service as soon as possible are expected. During high-audience events (matches, premieres), there may be occasional reinforcement.
Hiring process
1 interview
- Submitting your application takes 3 to 5 minutes (name, contact details, CV and optional cover letter).
- When you accept the offer you receive a pre-boarding plan and an invitation to the monthly RISE welcome event.
