UxV and Robotics Engineer

You will join the Advanced Communications Area, within the Autonomous and Unmanned Systems line, where you will combine applied research with the development and validation of new technological capabilities. You will participate in the design of algorithms, architectures, and technologies to improve the autonomy of unmanned vehicles in complex operations, train artificial intelligence models for swarm coordination and collaborative systems, develop precision robotic manipulation solutions, and design and integrate new payloads and prototypes that you will validate on real platforms in operational environments.

Your work will take place within national and European R&D projects, in collaboration with companies, technology centers, and end users. You will work in a highly experimental environment where research materializes into functional prototypes that are integrated, deployed, and validated through testing campaigns under real conditions.

• Research, design, develop, and validate algorithms and models that expand the navigation, coordination, and control capabilities of autonomous systems: UAV, UGV/AGV, USV, ROV, and robotic arms.

• Integrate sensors, actuators, and payloads to build functional prototypes on which to execute and measure the developed models.

• Validate developments in the field by designing the experiments and metrics that allow measuring system performance under real conditions.

• Participate in the technical execution of autonomous navigation, collaborative coordination, and robotics projects within national and international calls and in consortium with industry, technology centers, and end users.

• Contribute to technical deliverables, as well as to the preparation of proposals and meetings with clients, partners, and consortia.

• Maintain technological surveillance on the state of the art and on reference development communities, to incorporate new techniques and tools into the team's workflow.

• We are looking for Junior, Mid, and Senior profiles. The knowledge and years of experience indicated below represent our ideal reference, although they will be adapted according to the level of experience and responsibility associated with each position.

• More than 3 years developing in C++ and Python on Linux, with Github as the version control tool.

• More than 2 years developing with ROS2, with experience in Nav2 and robot_localization packages.

• Training, evaluation, and deployment of AI models, with validation in simulators such as Gazebo or PyBullet.

• Proficiency in hardware integration on real platforms: sensors, actuators, communication equipment, etc.

• Education in Telecommunications Engineering, Robotics, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, or related degrees.

• Advanced SLAM and sensor fusion.

• Robotic manipulation: kinematics, force control, and planning with MoveIt 2.

• AI-based collaborative swarming, MUM-T

• Deep RL, sim-to-real transfer, federated learning, and/or curriculum learning.

• NVIDIA ecosystem: Isaac for manipulator, Isaac for mobility, and Omniverse.

• Previous experience in European R&D projects (Horizon Europe, EDF, EDA).

Formarás parte del Área de Comunicaciones Avanzadas, dentro de la línea de Sistemas Autónomos y No Tripulados, donde combinarás investigación aplicada con el desarrollo y la validación de nuevas capacidades tecnológicas. Participarás en el diseño de algoritmos, arquitecturas y tecnologías para mejorar la autonomía de vehículos no tripulados en operaciones complejas, entrenarás modelos de inteligencia artificial para la coordinación de enjambres y sistemas colaborativos, desarrollarás soluciones de manipulación robótica de precisión y diseñarás e integrarás nuevas cargas de pago y prototipos que validarás sobre plataformas reales en entornos operativos.

Tu actividad se desarrollará en proyectos nacionales y europeos de I+D, en colaboración con empresas, centros tecnológicos y usuarios finales. Trabajarás en un entorno eminentemente experimental, donde la investigación se materializa en prototipos funcionales que se integran, despliegan y validan mediante campañas de ensayo en condiciones reales.

• Investigar, diseñar, desarrollar y validar algoritmos y modelos que amplíen las capacidades de navegación, coordinación y control de sistemas autónomos: UAV, UGV/AGV, USV, ROV y brazos robóticos.

• Integrar sensores, actuadores y cargas de pago hasta constituir prototipos funcionales sobre los que ejecutar y medir los modelos desarrollados.

• Validar en campo lo desarrollado, diseñando los experimentos y las métricas que permiten medir el rendimiento del sistema en condiciones reales.

• Participar en la ejecución técnica de proyectos de navegación autónoma, coordinación colaborativa y robótica, dentro de convocatorias nacionales e internacionales y en consorcio con industria, centros tecnológicos y usuarios finales.

• Contribuir a los entregables técnicos, así como en la elaboración de propuestas y en las reuniones con clientes, socios y consorcios.

• Mantener la vigilancia tecnológica sobre el estado del arte y sobre las comunidades de desarrollo de referencia, para incorporar al equipo nuevas técnicas y herramientas al flujo de trabajo del equipo.

• Buscamos perfiles Junior, Mid y Senior. Los conocimientos y años de experiencia indicados a continuación representan nuestra referencia ideal, aunque se adaptarán según el nivel de experiencia y responsabilidad asociado a cada posición.
