Cloud Operations & Observability Lead (AWS/Azure)

Advanced level, with demonstrable experience working with AWS and AZURE, and deep knowledge of HA and DR models, oriented toward the resilience of Cloud Applications.

Advanced level, with demonstrable experience working with Kafka, MongoDB, Kubernetes (OpenShift, AKS, EKS, ...).

Expert level in ITIL processes.

Solid knowledge of automation, preferably infrastructure-oriented (Terraform, Ansible), although experience working with SDKs or APIs from hyperscalers and OpenShift is highly valued.

Advanced level in the administration, implementation and operation of Dynatrace and the LGTM stack (Loki, Grafana, Tempo and Mimir). Proficiency in the OpenTelemetry standard.

Access and Policy Administration, Dashboard Design and Alert Configuration, Monitoring and Performance Optimization, log analysis, etc.

We are looking for an Infrastructure and Operations Consultant for IBERIA (I&O IBERIA) to join our cross-functional platform team, responsible for leading the evolution of the operating model, driving and advancing observability, ensuring the cloud operation of applications, platforms and products, implementing Service Delivery Manager best practices and guaranteeing "Production Readiness".

You will join a dynamic team that is highly goal- and results-oriented, which must ensure the availability, performance, service levels and compliance of MAPFRE Spain's Cloud applications.

You must have "everything as code" in your DNA: from Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to auto-remediations, Pipelines, CD, etc., with strong knowledge of Cloud technologies related to compute, serverless, storage, networking, all oriented toward a Platform Engineering model.

Service Delivery Manager:

• Responsible for ensuring that technology services are delivered effectively, aligned with business objectives and meeting quality standards, ensuring the operating model. To do so, you will supervise the execution of contracted services, ensuring compliance with service level agreements (SLAs).

• Act as the liaison between technical teams for platforms, products, applications, SRE, Architecture and Security.

• Organize and lead teams to ensure timely and efficient service delivery.

• Identify opportunities for optimization in processes, tools and delivery methodologies.

• Oversee the performance of external providers and ensure that subcontracted services meet established standards.

• Analyze key performance indicators and prepare reports for management.

Strategic management:

• You will participate in the planning, design and execution of the Observability 360 roadmap at MAPFRE Spain, ensuring its alignment with the strategic objectives of Management, guaranteeing key decision-making based on data and operational needs regarding availability, performance and security.

• You will design and evolve the Production Readiness of applications, with an Agile/Lean perspective, to enable development and maintenance teams, SRE and Architecture to bring applications into Production with the necessary guarantees of Availability, Performance, Security and operational resilience.

• You will drive automation and the "everything as code" objective as part of the new application operating model.

Technical supervision:

• You will ensure the implementation and operation of observability tools such as Dynatrace and Grafana, standards such as OpenTelemetry, alerting, auto-scaling, auto-remediation, etc., to guarantee compliance with the operating model and Production Readiness.

• You will collaborate with Architecture, the SRE team, Release Management and Product teams so that the design and subsequent implementation of applications meet the requirements and objectives of Management, adapting and aligning Production Readiness as needs are identified.

• You will supervise and track the security compliance of infrastructures in Spain, ensuring that regional infrastructures and services remain in "compliance", and maintaining appropriate reporting to the regional CTO on status and required action plans.

• You will drive the use of reference architectures and automation using Terraform, Ansible and CAP in infrastructure pipelines and operations.

Team management:

• You will lead and coordinate multidisciplinary teams that will help you achieve the objectives of the I&O Iberia division and the Business.

• You will act as the connecting point between different product, platform and provider teams, and you will establish mechanisms that optimize this collaboration to achieve common objectives, fostering data-driven decision-making and prioritization aligned with the Organization's strategy.

Supervision and Reporting:

• You will ensure that Management receives the necessary reports, properly updated, to be presented and defended in the different Monitoring, Management and Strategy Committees: SLA, SLO, APPDEX, COMPLIANCE, etc.

• You will lead vulnerability tracking in coordination with the responsible teams (Security/DCS, Product, Infrastructure, providers), ensuring prioritization, action plans, deadline control and evidence of mitigation/closure.

• You will drive the tracking of technology obsolescence (software, platforms and unsupported components), in line with the entity's annual technology upgrade plans.

• You will track the decommissioning plans for applications defined in the Systems Plan, ensuring their progress, dependencies, risks, milestones and communication in the corresponding monitoring forums, as well as their reflection in reports to Management.

• You will be responsible for ensuring the existence of dashboards that reflect the status of the activities and responsibilities of the I&O Iberia division, adapting, evolving or creating them as needed.

Communication:

• You will communicate and disseminate the pillars of the operating model of the Cross-Platform Services division at MAPFRE Spain, based on CloudOps (NoOps), production readiness, end-to-end observability and extreme automation with the "everything as code" mindset.

• You will be responsible for communicating clearly and promptly any change, improvement or benefit introduced in existing or new processes that impact the Governance model and the relationship with Product, Platform, Architecture and SRE teams.

At least 5 years in roles related to ITIL processes, 3 of which as Service Delivery Manager.

At least 5 years coordinating multidisciplinary teams and managing projects with multiple dependencies in Cloud environments.

At least 3 years designing application, platform and Cloud service architectures, preferably in Serverless or PaaS models, including their automated deployment and operation.

At least 3 years implementing, operating and using observability tools such as Dynatrace and the LGTM stack (Loki, Grafana, Tempo and Mimir), as well as working with the OpenTelemetry standard.
