We have started with an innovative technology that reduces the production cost of green hydrogen. Thanks to our catalysts and electrodes, which we design and manufacture, we can have a great impact on the efficiency of electrolysis.

Building on 10 years of R&D in research centers, the project was born from Zubi Labs, the IMPACT VENTURE BUILDER of Zubi Group, from which triple-impact companies are created and scaled—that is, those that seek to generate not only economic benefits but also social and environmental value.

We are looking for a person with a background in Operations and manufacturing in chemical plants who, reporting to the Senior Operations Manager, will carry out the mission of leading manufacturing activities during the shift to ensure safe, efficient production in accordance with operational and quality objectives.

As the shift lead, your main functions will include:

• Executing manufacturing activities, ensuring both quality and productive performance (throughput) of the shift.

• Leading and guaranteeing a proactive safety culture, supervising strict compliance with regulations, identifying potential risks, and ensuring that the team works in a safe environment to achieve the zero-incident goal.

• Managing and coordinating the team of operators and technicians.

• Ensuring compliance with safety standards, work procedures, and quality controls in the process.

• Monitoring process performance, escalating any deviation and ensuring that the production plan is met.

• Acting as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in machinery operation and process execution, performing first-line troubleshooting and minor maintenance.

• Training and mentoring operators regarding processes and safety.

• Maintaining production quality and supporting pilot plant executions or ramp-up simulations.

• Proposing process improvements and cost reductions, reporting the results.

• Education: Technical degree in chemistry, industrial, or a related field.

• Experience: More than 5 years in manufacturing operations or pilot plants, ideally in the chemical sector.

• Leadership: Demonstrable experience in team coordination and management skills.

• Knowledge: Solid understanding of process safety and familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles.

• Competencies: Ability for problem-solving and decision-making in uncertain environments.

In 2014, back in Spain, Iker started the Zubi adventure with the goal of creating impact companies to solve social and environmental challenges such as climate change, the creation of a circular economy, or poverty alleviation, mobilizing talent and co-investments to create companies and investment funds. In the summer of 2023, after co-founding Matteco from Zubi Labs, he decided to take a more active role in the project by assuming the role of CEO.
