The role

An HSE Manager specialized in the Industrial sector is sought to lead the implementation and supervision of occupational health and safety policies. The position is based in Badajoz.

What you'll do

The selected candidate will join an Important Industry with a presence in Badajoz as HSE Manager. Reporting to the Design and Construction Director, their main responsibilities will be:

  • Develop, implement, and optimize the EHS Management System through the definition, maintenance, and improvement of processes, documentation, and controls that guarantee effective management of business requirements, risks, and opportunities.
  • Coordinate EHS compliance among the different departments, collaborating proactively with construction, operations, management teams, and other stakeholders to integrate safe working practices and ensure compliance with government regulations and company policies.
  • Identify hazards and assess health, safety, and environmental risks through periodic reviews, inspections, and assessments, implementing appropriate mitigation measures to prevent incidents and injuries.
  • Supervise safety and environmental performance through periodic reviews of facilities and operational areas, measuring results and preparing reports and progress presentations that support informed decision-making.
  • Develop and maintain EHS policies, procedures, training objectives, goals, and action plans as necessary, ensuring they are practical, compliant with regulations, and adapted to the needs of a rapidly growing construction environment.
  • Supervise the preparation of EHS reports, assurance activities, and performance metrics through the collection, analysis, and dissemination of data to internal stakeholders and public bodies where appropriate.
  • Facilitate investigations of EHS-related incidents, identifying root causes, developing practical conclusions, and sharing lessons learned throughout the organization to strengthen prevention and continuous improvement.
  • Drive a proactive EHS culture through change management, questioning established practices, promoting individual and collective responsibility, and implementing innovative solutions that improve safety and environmental results.

Who are we looking for (M/F/D)?

The selected HSE Manager must meet the following requirements:

  • University degree or higher education diploma in Environmental Safety, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related discipline; professional accreditation will be valued.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in occupational safety, process safety, or construction safety, preferably in the construction, utilities, electrical infrastructure, or industrial sectors.
  • Solid knowledge of applicable legislation, industry best practices, and HSE management systems, as well as experience in implementing high-performance oriented practices.
  • Knowledge of construction processes and risk mitigation, especially in relation to electrical infrastructure safety.
