The role

Design, develop, implement, and improve plant digital solutions oriented towards optimizing industrial processes, automating operational activities, and integrating local systems, ensuring their alignment with the central Manufacturing IT/OT roadmap. The role combines functional/application development capabilities with practical knowledge of factory processes, OT systems, and local IT infrastructure.

  • Multinational company located in the outskirts of Bilbao
  • Digitalization projects

What you'll do

  • Collaboration and execution of industrial digitalization projects: Plan, execute, and monitor Industrial Digitalization projects at the site, collaborating with the global IT team (SITIC) to implement new technologies in the plant. This includes identifying new IT/OT needs in manufacturing environments and proposing innovative solutions to improve production processes.
  • Optimization and automation of processes at a local level:
Identify, analyze, and channel the needs of plant processes and users, identify inefficiencies, and propose digital improvements oriented towards productivity, traceability, quality, operational safety, or reduction of manual tasks, avoiding isolated developments not aligned with company policies and standards.
  • Local implementation of corporate Manufacturing solutions:
Collaborate in the deployment at the plant of the global solutions defined by Manufacturing IT/OT and prioritized in the corporate roadmap (MES, CMMS, traceability, etc.). Ensure correct adaptation to the local operating context, coordinating requirements, testing, user preparation, startup support, and solution stabilization.

Connection between plant operational reality and central teams:
Act as the operational liaison between the factory, the Manufacturing BP, and the global IT/OT teams, ensuring functional alignment with the BP in the execution of Manufacturing digital initiatives and conveying real production needs, technical constraints, local dependencies, and improvement opportunities. Facilitate that corporate solutions are implemented in a homogeneous, maintainable way and aligned with global standards, avoiding isolated developments or uncoordinated local decisions.

Coordination with global IT teams: Work closely with the global heads of IT Applications, Infrastructure, Workplace, Security, and Communications to ensure the efficient implementation of corporate solutions in the industrial plant, guaranteeing compliance with the company's global regulations and standards.

  • Support for critical services in OT environments: Provide second/third-level support to critical plant IT services (e.g., production traceability systems or other crucial OT applications) and ensure their availability. Maintain sufficient understanding of industrial networks, connectivity, servers, local equipment, and IT/OT segregation to collaborate effectively with Infrastructure and Security in the implementation of solutions
  • Implementation of improvements across multiple sites: Collaborate in the implementation of initiatives and projects developed at the plant that can be extended to other company sites, sharing best practices and lessons learned with the IT teams at those locations.
  • Mentoring and escalated support: Provide advanced level technical support to the local support team (level 1-2 profile), acting as a technical reference.
  • Direct interaction with plant users:
Gather requirements, validate processes, perform testing with key users, document solutions, and accompany operational adoption.
  • Operational management of local suppliers:
Coordinate local technology suppliers when participating in developments, integrations, or support of plant solutions, maintaining quality control, deliverables, and SLA compliance, in line with the existing responsibility for local supplier management.

How you'll work

  • On-site format.
