About the role

We are looking for a Plant Manager to lead a chemical plant in Vallès Oriental, with overall responsibility for operations, safety, and industrial strategy. Key role on the management committee, with direct impact on the competitiveness and development of the site.

What you'll do

Reporting to General Management, the selected candidate will assume overall responsibility for the industrial plant, leading both daily operations and the strategic evolution of the site. Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading and managing all areas of the plant (production, quality control, safety and processes, engineering, maintenance, and infrastructure), ensuring proper functioning and alignment with business objectives.
  • Ensuring compliance with current legal regulations, especially in an industrial environment regulated by SEVESO standards, as well as internal quality, safety, and environmental standards.
  • Defining, promoting, and consolidating a safety and prevention culture, acting as a reference in EHS and assuming responsibility as emergency chief according to the self-protection plan.
  • Supervising production operations in a batch chemical process environment involving the handling of hazardous substances (acids, bases, metal salts), ensuring efficiency, quality, and safety.
  • Managing, developing, and leading a multidisciplinary team, with direct responsibility for approximately 15-20 people and indirect responsibility for the entire site (including quality functions and external contractors).
  • Coordinating production planning, ensuring deadline compliance, resource optimization, and adaptation to demand.
  • Driving continuous improvement and operational excellence initiatives, focused on process optimization, cost reduction, yield improvement, and waste minimization.
  • Leading and executing industrial investment projects (CapEx), from definition and planning through implementation and monitoring, managing associated budgets (CapEx and maintenance).
  • Supervising industrial asset management, ensuring the reliability, availability, and maintenance of facilities, in coordination with external services.
  • Managing the plant's overall budget, including operational cost control and short- and medium-term financial planning.
  • Preparing and presenting periodic reports at the international level, ensuring visibility of site performance (operational, financial, and safety KPIs).
  • Collaborating with other corporate functions (commercial, supply chain, quality, EHS) to ensure the proper overall functioning of the business.
  • Actively participating in the management committee, contributing to strategic decision-making and business development at the local and international levels.
  • Leading and supporting the development of the people on their team.
