The role

At Sener, we wish to incorporate a Technical Director for Space and Defense Projects into our team at our Zamudio workplace.

We are an engineering company pioneering the design of satellite technology and equipment for space exploration. In Defense, we tackle the design and production of equipment and systems, including unmanned ones. Our passion for precision has led us to become trusted partners of the main space agencies, government bodies, and companies.

The selected candidate will join projects involving Defense and Space Mechanisms to develop new products in the areas of pointing, positioning, stabilization and control systems for aerodynamic surfaces.

What you'll do

· Collaboration with project management in client liaison, ensuring proper technical justification of the product.

· Design of mechanisms and structures for Defense and Space.

· Coordination and supervision of the various development activities, taking part in some of them: definition of the mechanism architecture, preliminary sizing of components, 3D design, structural and thermal analyses, performance analyses, specification and selection of machine components: spindles, bearings, motors, gearboxes, etc.

· Preparation of documentation: design descriptions, technical justifications, etc.

· Coordination with other technical disciplines, such as electronics and automation, for the study of requirements, interfaces, budgets and system performance.

· Launch and technical monitoring of supplies.

· Definition of the design validation campaign; assembly and testing of prototypes.

· Direct liaison with the client.

· Participation in bids for new projects.

What we expect from you

Master's or Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or similar.
At least 10 years of experience performing the functions described in the position.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in the design, calculation, and testing of mechanical elements and a minimum of 2 years of experience technically leading product development teams in an R&D or Engineering department within manufacturing companies (automotive, aeronautics, railway, machine tool, robotics,...).
Advanced level of English.
