The role

At SOCOTEC Spain, we are looking for a Geotechnical Geologist to join our Geotechnics Division in Montcada i Reixac (Barcelona).

The selected person will participate in the development of geotechnical projects for civil engineering and building, combining fieldwork and technical office work. They will be responsible for the supervision of geotechnical campaigns, the analysis and interpretation of results, and the preparation of technical reports, collaborating with a highly specialized multidisciplinary team.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Supervision and coordination of geotechnical field campaigns.
Planning and monitoring of geotechnical investigations.
Processing, analysis, and interpretation of geotechnical tests.
Writing of geotechnical reports for civil engineering and building projects.
Geotechnical characterization of soils and rock masses.
Slope stability assessment in soil and rock.
Coordination and monitoring of subcontracted companies.
Collaboration with multidisciplinary teams in project development.
Ensuring compliance with technical and quality procedures.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

Education: Degree in Geology, Geological Engineering, or equivalent qualification.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in geotechnical projects.
Demonstrable experience in the supervision of geotechnical campaigns and report writing.
Knowledge of geotechnical characterization of soil and rock.
Experience in planning and coordination of fieldwork.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and GIS tools.

WILL BE VALUED

Knowledge of the UNE-EN ISO/IEC 17025 standard.
Experience with geotechnical software such as PLAXIS, FLAC, Rocscience, or other geotechnical calculation tools.
Experience in infrastructure and building projects.
Availability for occasional travel.
