Researcher in Safety of New Energy Vector Installations in the Built Environment

• Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Building Engineering, Architecture, Industrial Engineering or similar.
• 5 years of experience in projects related to advanced Numerical Modeling, mainly Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) solutions.
• Demonstrable experience in:
• Programming in Python or other scientific languages.
• Advanced data analysis and modeling.
• Machine Learning, predictive models, and optimization.
• Hybrid physics-data models.
• Data management, databases, pipelines, and model deployment.
• Experience in European R&D projects and/or projects with industry, participating in both definition and technical execution.
• C1 English level or equivalent.

• PhD or postgraduate training in Numerical Modeling, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Digital Construction, Building Engineering, or related areas.
• Experience in risk analysis, safety, or resilience in buildings and infrastructure, especially in contexts associated with new energy technologies such as hydrogen.
• Experience in technology transfer or deployment of solutions in real environments.
• Previous work experience in private industry.

We are looking for a person with a solid foundation in Numerical Modeling and demonstrable capabilities in Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, and Software Development, oriented towards advanced models and digital solutions in the field of risks in new energy vector installations.

The work will be carried out within the framework of European R&D projects and projects with industry, with an applied approach oriented towards real impact in the sector.

The selected person will be responsible for:

• Design and develop data-driven and artificial intelligence-based digital construction solutions to improve performance, sustainability, safety, and decision-making throughout the life cycle of buildings and infrastructure.
• Develop predictive models, optimization models, and hybrid physics-data models applied to the behavior, operation, resilience, and risk of built assets.
• Implement data pipelines, models, and software components that integrate heterogeneous sources (sensors, simulations, databases, digital twins, external platforms) for exploitation through advanced analytics and AI.
• Contribute to the analysis of risks and vulnerability of buildings and infrastructure regarding the use and deployment of hydrogen, through models, data, and simulations oriented towards safety, resilience, and decision-making.
• Participate in the technical definition and drafting of proposals for R&D projects (especially European) and in the end-to-end technical execution of projects, from conceptualization to validation with clients and partners.
• Work in collaboration with companies in the construction, engineering, and energy sectors, acting as a technical reference in digital solutions applied to the built environment.
