University degree in Industrial Engineering, Energy Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent degrees.

Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in energy management, operation of smart buildings, complex industrial facilities, or highly complex infrastructures.

Demonstrable experience of at least 3 years in the exploitation and functional administration of BEMS (Building Energy Management Systems) or SCADA platforms, as well as in energy monitoring tools for the supervision and optimization of facilities.

Solid knowledge of thermal installations, HVAC, electricity, renewable energies, regulation and control systems, as well as energy efficiency applied to buildings and facilities.

Experience in energy data analysis, development of indicators (KPIs), monitoring of consumption, and definition of energy optimization strategies.

Ability to coordinate suppliers, lead multidisciplinary work teams, and collaborate transversally with the different areas of the organization.

Ability to drive continuous improvement initiatives, identify energy saving opportunities, and transform them into improvement and investment projects.

Communication, planning, and results-oriented skills.

English level B2 or equivalent.

B2 level of Basque or equivalent.

Experience with platforms such as Tridium Niagara, Siemens Desigo, Schneider EcoStruxure, Honeywell, Johnson Controls, or equivalent centralized technical building management solutions.

Knowledge of communication protocols and building automation such as BACnet, Modbus, OPC UA, and MQTT, as well as experience in the integration of control and monitoring systems.

Experience in the implementation and exploitation of Energy Management Systems in accordance with ISO 50001, as well as in Measurement and Verification (IPMVP) methodologies for the quantification of energy savings.

Experience in decarbonization projects, integration of renewable energies, self-consumption, energy storage, electrification, and demand flexibility, oriented towards improving the energy performance of buildings and facilities.

Experience in the identification, preparation, and management of public aid, grants, and incentives for energy efficiency, sustainability, and decarbonization projects.

Knowledge and experience in the management of Energy Savings Certificates (CAE) or other mechanisms for the financing and monetization of energy efficiency actions.

Experience in the preparation of technical reports and documentation for national or European aid calls related to the energy transition.

Experience in innovation environments, technological centers, universities, or large campuses, participating in building digitalization projects, Living Labs, or technological demonstrators.

At TECNALIA, we are looking to hire an Energy Management and Smart Buildings Manager, a strategic newly created position from which to lead the energy exploitation of our infrastructures, driving efficiency, digitalization, and the integration of new technologies.

• You will lead the energy management of TECNALIA's facilities, optimizing energy consumption, user comfort, and building performance.
• You will be the functional owner of the energy management platform (BEMS), ensuring its correct exploitation, evolution, and information quality, as well as the continuous monitoring of the facilities.
• You will monitor the operation of the facilities through digital tools, identifying deviations and opportunities for improvement, and proposing energy optimization strategies.
• You will define and update the facility operation strategies (setpoints, schedules, operating sequences, and exploitation modes) in coordination with the Maintenance Manager.
• You will prepare energy indicators, dashboards, and monitoring reports for consumption, energy costs, CO₂ emissions, and facility performance, verifying the savings obtained through measurement and verification methodologies.
• You will collaborate with research teams in the implementation of new technologies related to monitoring, digitalization, renewable energies, energy flexibility, and decarbonization, using TECNALIA's infrastructures as a Living Lab.
• You will collaborate with the Infrastructure and Projects Manager in the technical definition of new investments in energy facilities, ensuring that energy efficiency, sustainability, and future operation criteria are integrated from the design phase.
• You will provide technical support in the contracting and optimization of energy supplies, analyzing opportunities for improvement in costs, contracting, and demand management.
• You will identify, analyze, and promote funding opportunities, public aid, and incentives linked to energy efficiency, decarbonization, and renewable energies, including the management of Energy Savings Certificates (CAE) and other investment support mechanisms.
• You will drive the identification and development of initiatives that allow for the maximization of the economic return of energy efficiency and decarbonization actions, coordinating their technical justification and monitoring when necessary.
• You will collaborate in audits related to energy, sustainability, and the environment, as well as in the implementation and improvement of energy management systems.
• You will coordinate with the Maintenance Manager the necessary actions when energy monitoring detects performance losses or incidents in the facilities, subsequently verifying the recovery of the expected performance.
