About the role

This great opportunity allows you to grow on two fronts.

  • On one hand, leading the technical evolution of the corporate middleware integration platform that supports critical services and has been developed in-house, providing architectural support for integrations with SAP S4Hana, REST/SOAP services, Cobol/CICS, messaging, APIs, Java/JNI components, and corporate middleware platforms.
  • On the other, supporting the definition and evolution of reference architectures for data platforms, advanced analytics, and artificial intelligence, helping to turn business and technology needs into reusable, governed architectural models aligned with the Telefonica group strategy, and supporting the Group Operators' teams in adopting cloud-native architectures, analytics platforms, and data exposure models for business and AI use cases.

You will have the opportunity to work with a wide range of related technologies.

What we're looking for

Required skills:

For the technical integration architecture side:

  • Advanced experience in native software development in C/C++, applying good design, maintainability, and performance optimization practices on critical platforms.
  • Solid knowledge of concurrent programming and multithreaded application development, including synchronization, memory management, inter-process communication, and performance optimization.
  • Experience in developing, maintaining, and evolving cross-platform applications on Unix/Linux and Windows environments, as well as in native software compilation and build processes.
  • Ability to analyze and understand existing code, identifying opportunities for improvement, refactoring, and evolution, ensuring the maintainability, stability, and performance of the platform.
  • Experience in application integration using enterprise protocols and technologies, including REST APIs, SOAP services, SAP RFC, messaging, and other corporate integration technologies.
  • Experience in developing and integrating software components using third-party SDKs and libraries, ensuring their maintainability, stability, and performance.
  • Experience in technical administration, deployment, and support of applications on web servers and application servers.
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve complex incidents related to performance, concurrency, communications, resource consumption, and system integration.
  • Experience in the technological evolution and modernization of critical middleware platforms, maintaining compatibility with legacy systems.
  • Knowledge of automation tools, scripting, and software lifecycle support to facilitate development, integration, and deployment tasks.
  • Experience in integrating native components with Java platforms using the Java Native Interface (JNI).
  • Ability to combine architecture activities with direct technical involvement when the complexity of the solution requires it.

   For the data architecture side:

  • Experience in defining and evolving reference architectures for enterprise data platforms, ensuring scalability, interoperability, and information governance.
  • Experience in defining data integration and exposure architectures using APIs, events, virtualization, and other decoupled access mechanisms.
  • Knowledge of modern data management architectures, including Data Lakehouse, Data Mesh, Data Fabric, and Data Product-based approaches.
  • Knowledge of the full data lifecycle, including ingestion, processing, storage, cataloging, governance, exposure, consumption, and retirement, applying DataOps principles to automate, monitor, and continuously improve data management processes.
