We are looking for two people to join the execution of an innovation project in the field of access to energy in humanitarian contexts.

The project, carried out in alliance with an internationally recognized humanitarian NGO, aims to help improve the capacity of humanitarian organizations to meet electricity needs in emergency contexts using renewable energy sources. A tool will be developed to help humanitarian actors size their energy demand and identify sustainable solutions to meet it, and it will be validated in an intervention in the Philippines.

The Energy Technicians in humanitarian projects will join the project team to support the identification of existing solutions and applicable regulations and subsequently carry it out, specifically performing the following functions:

  • Research on solutions developed in other sectors and/or regions that enable the characterization of demand and simulation of generation alternatives
  • Study of methods and tools for sizing electrical power generation sources and simulating operating scenarios
  • Study of the energy demand of humanitarian actors in emergency contexts.
  • Study of the regulations applicable to energy access solutions in humanitarian emergencies
  • Evaluation of different electrification and heating/cooking technologies. Search for suppliers of off-grid electricity access solutions. Analysis of the suitability of different solutions and evaluation based on regulations and corresponding certifications.
  • Literature review on energy access in vulnerable and humanitarian contexts and identification of good practices, trends, and key impact factors.
  • Preparation of manuals, good practices, guides, recommendations, and procedures.
  • Support in the management and monitoring of the project, in accordance with the requirements established by acciona.org and external funding sources.

What profile are we looking for?
