Engineering Manager - API First - Delivery, Ops & Team Performance - Remote

We are expanding our team and looking for an Engineering Manager with solid experience in a similar role, for a stable and ongoing project, within one of the technology teams that BETWEEN has deployed at one of our key clients.

Mission: You will focus on execution, stabilizing delivery, simplifying organization, and leading technical and operational transformation in a complex, fast-changing, high-traffic environment; with 24/7 critical services.

• You will work with 2 teams.

Delivery and execution:

• Ensure predictable, stable, and high-quality delivery.
• Optimize planning, prioritization, and incident management.
• Reduce interruptions, shifting focus, and rework.

Team management and performance:

• Lead teams in complex environments with a data-driven approach.
• Define clear ownership and improve team efficiency.
• Work with key metrics: velocity, throughput, predictability, and DORA, along with qualitative signals (frictions, blockers).

Stabilizing the environment:

• Ensure a stable, sustainable, and productive work environment.
• Detect and reduce friction, burnout, and turnover.

Organization and scalability:

• Evolve the operating model and ways of working.
• Establish ownership over critical services (24/7).
• Reduce dependencies and organizational complexity.

Operations and incidents:

• Define and improve the incident management model (intake, triage).
• Reduce operational noise and optimize escalations and resolution.

Collaboration with Product and Technology:

• Work closely with the PO on roadmap and priorities.
• Align stakeholders and translate business needs into execution.
• Collaborate with the Tech Lead on technical decisions and system evolution.
• Keep focus on the real product impact.

AI and continuous improvement:

• Drive the use of AI to improve efficiency (analysis, development, documentation).
• Promote Spec Driven Development (SDD) practices.
• Identify opportunities to reduce friction and accelerate delivery.

• Trabajarás con 2 equipos.

Delivery y ejecución:

• Garantizar un delivery predecible, estable y de calidad.
• Optimizar planificación, priorización e incidencias.
• Reducir interrupciones, cambios de foco y retrabajo.

Gestión y rendimiento del equipo:

• Liderar equipos en entornos complejos con enfoque data driven.
• Definir ownership claro y mejorar su eficiencia.
• Trabajar con métricas clave: velocidad, throughput, predictibilidad y DORA, junto con señales cualitativas (fricciones, bloqueos).

Estabilizar el entorno:

• Asegurar un entorno de trabajo estable, sostenible y productivo.
• Detectar y reducir fricción, desgaste y rotación.

Organización y escalabilidad:

• Evolucionar el modelo operativo y la forma de trabajar.
• Establecer ownership sobre servicios críticos (24/7).
• Reducir dependencias y complejidad organizativa.

Operaciones e incidencias:

• Definir y mejorar el modelo de gestión de incidencias (intake, triage).
• Reducir ruido operativo y optimizar escalaciones y resolución.

Colaboración con Producto y Tecnología:

• Trabajar estrechamente con el PO en roadmap y prioridades.
• Alinear stakeholders y traducir necesidades de negocio en ejecución.
• Colaborar con el Tech Lead en decisiones técnicas y evolución del sistema.
• Mantener el foco en el impacto real del producto.

IA y mejora continua:

• Impulsar el uso de IA para mejorar eficiencia (análisis, desarrollo, documentación).
• Promover prácticas de Spec Driven Development (SDD).
• Identificar oportunidades para reducir fricción y acelerar el delivery.
