✅What we need from you:
We are looking for a Junior Data Governance Consultant passionate about data quality and enterprise data management. A professional with intellectual curiosity, oriented toward solving complex problems through data and metadata. You are someone who understands that data quality is a collective asset and who feels comfortable working with business and technical stakeholders. You value documentation, precision, and consistency. You have a continuous learning mindset and a desire to grow in the field of data governance and engineering. You will join a multidisciplinary team committed to implementing a Data Governance Office (DGO) that transforms how our organization manages, protects, and leverages its data as a strategic asset.
About the Role
This is a key support role in the data governance transformation. You will work directly with Data Stewards, Data Owners, and technical teams to ensure the quality, security, and availability of our enterprise data. You will be responsible for enriching metadata, documenting data policies, monitoring quality indicators, and facilitating the adoption of governance best practices across the organization.
Main Responsibilities
● Assistance in the collection and enrichment of the data catalog: document, classify, and tag data assets according to governance standards.
● Operational custody of metadata: define, validate, and certify descriptions of tables, fields, lineage, and relationships of critical data.
● Development and documentation of data policies: contribute to the creation of classification, retention, access, and data quality guides.
● Data quality monitoring: implement and monitor quality rules (completeness, accuracy, consistency, validity) on critical datasets.
● Quality incident management: investigate alerts, escalate issues, and work with technical teams on their resolution.
● Support in the implementation of governance tools: participate in the evaluation, configuration, and adoption of platforms such as Collibra, Alation, or similar.
● Communication and training: facilitate workshops and awareness sessions on data governance with business domains and technical teams.
● Collaboration on audits and compliance: support GDPR, regulatory, and conformity validations related to data.
Minimum Requirements
● Degree in Computer Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
● 1-3 years of experience in analytical, data, or digital transformation project support roles.
● Solid understanding of data governance concepts, data quality, and metadata management.
● Familiarity with relational databases and query languages (SQL).
● Excellent communication skills and ability to work in multidisciplinary teams.
● Attention to detail and an analytical mindset for working with complex data.
● Willingness to learn new data governance tools and technologies.
Desirable Requirements
● Experience with data governance tools (Collibra, Alation, Microsoft Purview, Google Dataplex).
● Knowledge of governance frameworks such as DCAM (EDM Council) or DAMA-DMBOK.
● Familiarity with regulations such as GDPR, CCPA, or financial industry standards (BCBS 239).
● Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and data management in multicloud environments.
● Skills in documentation tools (Confluence, SharePoint, technical wikis).
● Knowledge of data pipelines and data transformation (ETL/ELT, dbt, Apache Spark).
● Certifications in data governance or data analytics specialties.

Priority will be given

Preference will be given to candidates who, during the interview, demonstrate real troubleshooting skills, good support practices, and a focus on continuous improvement (documentation, automation, and incident prevention).
