Java Software Engineer - International

As a Software Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the development, maintenance and optimization of software solutions/applications, specializing in Java and JavaScript/TypeScript technologies. You will work in a multidisciplinary and international environment with cutting-edge technologies. In Agile environments, you will collaborate in the continuous improvement of development processes.
In our teams, a Software Engineer applies scientific methods to analyze and solve software engineering problems. They are responsible for researching and acquiring knowledge in their technical discipline. They collaborate and act as a team player alongside other software engineers and stakeholders.
The Software Engineer develops skills and experience in their discipline to reach the standard expectations of the role, as defined in our internal Professional Communities.

• Software development and maintenance: Create and maintain high-quality software applications using Java and related technologies. Participate in the development of the most complex functionalities.
• Collaboration: Work in close collaboration with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, and other engineers, to deliver robust software solutions.
• Code review: Perform thorough code reviews to ensure quality, performance and security. Supervise developments carried out by the team. Disseminate best practices and development processes.
• Continuous improvement: Stay up to date with the latest industry trends and technologies to continuously improve software engineering practices. Propose improvements in application development.
• Technical leadership: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior developers, ensuring best practices in coding and design. Help the team identify pending work in a project.

The Agile Delivery Center Spain @Capgemini is a specialized center located in Murcia and Valencia, focused on offering innovative software solutions using agile methodologies such as Scrum and SAFe. We work with large international clients across Europe, using a distributed agile model. We are looking for Software Engineers with at least 3 years of experience in software development projects, with fluent English and/or French, a great passion for technology and an interest in being part of a highly technological talent ecosystem, in a multicultural environment, and in an active, dynamic and open-minded culture.

More than two years of relevant work experience. Solid understanding of programming concepts, software design, and software development principles. Works consistently following guidelines with minimal supervision, producing accurate and reliable results. Individuals are expected to be able to work on a variety of tasks and problems, demonstrating their ability to apply their skills and knowledge. Organizes their own time to meet tasks set by others with a medium-term horizon. Works cooperatively with others to achieve team goals and has a direct and positive impact on project performance, making decisions based on their understanding of the situation, not just on the rules.

• Proficiency in Java and JavaScript/TypeScript: Extensive experience with Java 8-17 (streams, interfaces...), Spring and Angular or React frameworks.
• Software development life cycle: Solid knowledge of the software development life cycle and methodologies such as Scrum.
• Technical knowledge: SOAP, REST, MAVEN, JSP, HTML, PL SQL.
• Database management: Experience with relational and non-relational databases, including SQL and NoSQL.
• Testing and debugging: Proficiency in unit testing, integration testing, and debugging using tools such as JUnit and Mockito.
• Version control: Experience with version control systems such as Git, GitLab, GitHub.
• Communication skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with remote teams. Fluent French, to communicate with teams and clients
• Problem-solving skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
