Technical Back Office - Data Centers

• Preferably Industrial, Mechanical, Energy, or similar Engineer.
• Previous experience in application engineering, bid engineering, technical pre-sales, or HVAC equipment selection.
• Solid experience and knowledge in HVAC systems, air conditioning, and refrigeration.
• We especially value previous experience in Data Centers, mission-critical infrastructure, or high-availability facilities.
• Ability to interpret technical specifications, plans, diagrams, datasheets, and project documentation.
• Knowledge of cold production systems, especially chillers, free cooling, air handling units, and refrigeration solutions for Data Centers.
• Ability to understand both the technical and economic aspects of a proposal and seek the best balance between compliance, performance, cost, and competitiveness.

• Spanish: essential.
• English: essential, with the ability to work daily with international teams and technical documentation.
• Portuguese: valuable and considered a plus.

We are looking to hire a Back Office / Application Engineer specialized in Data Centers to join the Carrier Data Centers team in Iberia.

Their main mission will be to provide technical and application engineering support to the sales force, transforming the specifications and requirements of each project into technically sound, competitive, and commercially winning HVAC solutions.

This will be a key position within the bidding process, working in close collaboration with Sales, Product Management, Pricing, factories, and international engineering teams, from the receipt of the specification to the preparation and delivery of the final proposal to the sales team.

• Analyze the technical specifications, tender documents, and tender documentation received from the sales team.
• Perform technical selections and HVAC equipment configurations, seeking the solution that best combines technical compliance, efficiency, competitiveness, and cost.
• Analyze the specific requirements of Data Center projects, including aspects such as cooling capacity, energy efficiency, redundancy, design conditions, acoustics, hydraulics, dimensions, power supply, and control requirements.
• Prepare the technical selections, data sheets, compliance sheets, deviations, technical documentation, and other required information for each tender or bid.
• Identify possible deviations from specifications and propose technical alternatives or value engineering to improve the competitiveness of the proposal.
• Coordinate with Product Management, factories, and international engineering teams any technical clarification necessary to guarantee the viability and compliance of the proposed solution.
• Prepare and complete all the technical documentation necessary for the presentation of bids and tenders.
• Request and coordinate with the international Pricing team the prices corresponding to the selected equipment and configurations.
• Work together with the sales team to optimize the proposal from a perspective of technical and economic competitiveness.
• Ensure that proposals are prepared and delivered within the deadlines established by the client.
• Maintain adequate traceability of the selections, revisions, prices, and documentation corresponding to each opportunity.
• Provide technical support to the sales team during the phases of technical clarifications, negotiation, and bid review with clients, engineering firms, and contractors.
• Prepare the final technical and commercial proposal, providing the sales manager with a complete, competitive solution prepared for presentation to the client.
• Collaborate with the Sales, Specification, Project Management, Product Management, and Pricing teams, ensuring a correct transition of the opportunity from the design phase to the award.
• Contribute to the creation of standards, tools, templates, and best practices that allow for improved quality and reduced bid preparation times.

The position will play a fundamental role in the growth strategy of Carrier's Data Center business in Iberia, acting as a link between client needs, the sales force, and Carrier's technical and product capabilities, with a clear objective: to turn every opportunity into a technically excellent, competitive, and winning proposal.
