We are looking to hire a Control Room Operation and Support Technician to join the Control Center Support Team for the Peninsula and Balearic Islands at Red Eléctrica.
What you'll do
1. Analyze and propose updates to regulations, procedures, and operational processes for the operation of the system (peninsular or non-peninsular territories).
2. Coordinate and support the implementation and monitoring of operational processes with the involved teams to ensure their proper adoption and performance.
3. Participate in the design, management, and maintenance of the configuration, operational data, and databases associated with the real-time operation of the peninsular electrical system and the non-peninsular systems, ensuring the maintenance of quality and efficiency.
4. Participate in the definition and integration of new facilities into the operational systems (remote controls, parameters, documentation, and testing).
5. Prepare studies and analyses of operation and future grid scenarios within the assigned scope, to anticipate issues and define preventive/corrective actions.
6. Participate in the definition, specification, and studies for the implementation of new transmission grid assets.
7. Conduct grid analyses and studies for the commissioning of new transmission grid facilities, as well as collaborate in the management of commissioning for new non-transmission facilities.
8. Design and prepare reports on real-time operation or services managed by the System Operator (SO), whether periodic or on-demand (including requests from public administrations or other official bodies), as well as reports on optimization and improvement of operational processes.
9. Analyze operational incidents and events and provide feedback to the operations shift to improve criteria, procedures, and operational learning.
10. Monitor anomalies and deviations in operational data/tools and propose corrective actions to reduce incidents and improve the reliability of the operational environment.
11. Participate in the definition, testing, and improvement of support tools for real-time operation, to increase the effectiveness and quality of the operational process, as well as in innovation projects.
12. Participate in the design and/or development of services associated with system operation (including the necessary tools), such as balancing services, the automatic generation control system, or other newly emerging services.
13. Identify, propose, and develop solutions to address undesired responses from generation technologies for various damping and oscillation issues, or other newly emerging problems.
14. Participate in the methodology and development of applications for conducting dynamic studies in scheduling and real-time horizons.
15. Participate in the design of the new voltage control service, as well as in the development of the necessary tools for its implementation and the management of qualification testing.
16. Participate in the development of tools for monitoring system variables in real time.
17. Participate in national and international working groups and in institutional relations.
18. Lead cross-functional projects when applicable, within the scope of their duties.
19. Participate in the training of operators.
