We are looking to hire a Market Operations Technician - Balance Area to join the Dp. Market Operations team at Red Eléctrica.
What you'll do
- Monitoring current regulations, both national and European, as they affect the Spanish electricity market, the Iberian Market, and the European Internal Energy Market. Specifically, collaborating on the design, implementation, and monitoring, from both a technical and regulatory standpoint, of the developments arising from the upcoming implementation of a new European grid code, the NC Demand Response, and the implementation of the independent aggregator.
- Supervising the operation of balancing services, verifying their alignment with current regulations.
- Participate in national and international working groups on electricity markets, as well as in ad-hoc seminars, defending the technical position of the System Operator.
- Preparing and coordinating implementation plans for new developments affecting scheduling processes for system operation on the Peninsula and settlement processes between TSOs.
- Monitoring and analyzing the results of balancing services, identifying deviations (anomalies and incidents) and opportunities for improvement.
- Design and use data analysis tools and methods for supervising and monitoring market participants, in accordance with current European regulations.
- Ensure the traceability, quality and consistency of analyses and information used in market supervision, facilitating their review, internal and external communication and auditing.
- Define functional requirements and coordinate the evolution of IT systems supporting the peninsular scheduling process, ensuring their adaptation to current operational and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare and submit technical and market performance information to regulatory bodies and competent authorities, ensuring quality, transparency and neutrality.
- Handle queries and complaints from market participants regarding adjustment service markets and the management of international exchanges.
