What we're looking for

Experience as a Cloud/DevOps Engineer with 6 years of professional experience.
Solid experience administering Kafka/Confluent clusters (on-prem and cloud).
Previous experience in DB Linux VMs.
Experience in deployments on VMs, Openshift and GKE (Google Kubernetes Engine) environments.
Advanced knowledge in administration, configuration, security, and monitoring of the Kafka ecosystem.

Nice to have

Teamwork.
Communication skills, fostering dynamics that allow the flow of knowledge, with an interest in both learning and teaching.
Proactive in seeking new solutions and improvements.

The role

What are we looking for?
We currently have an open position for a Kafka SysOps Admin (GCP) to join GCP. We are looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic person willing to start and grow in a multicultural, motivating, and challenging environment.

What you'll do

Although it will depend on your knowledge and experience, in general, the main duties you would carry out with us would be:

Understanding client needs and working closely with the corresponding teams to ensure that the cloud solution developed is aligned with the needs and GFT's Value Proposition.
Administer, deploy, and optimize Kafka/Confluent clusters in on-prem environments (VMs, Openshift) and cloud (GCP + GKE).
Manage components such as brokers, topics, partitions, schemas, replication, security, and observability.
Define, implement, and maintain best practices for high availability, fault tolerance, and tuning in critical environments.
Automate deployments and infrastructure using Terraform and IaC.
Integrate pipelines and processes using GitHub Actions and other CI/CD tools. Collaborate with development, data, and platform teams to ensure resilience, performance, and scalability.
