You are our ideal candidate if...

You have a university degree in Food Science and Technology, Biotechnology, Chemistry, Food Engineering, or similar; providing complementary training in Project Management, Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, or similar is highly valued.
You bring solid experience in a position of similar characteristics, preferably in a food sector company with its own production activity, although candidacies with experience in food product engineering, design, and development companies will also be valued.
You have experience in the formulation of food products, in the implementation and improvement of food product manufacturing processes, and you have solid knowledge of food transformation and preservation technologies.
You are an analytical, creative, orderly, methodical, and organized person, who knows how to plan and prioritize, who likes working in a team, and who likes being in a constant process of learning.

The role

At Paul Marlex, we are collaborating with an important Catalan business group dedicated to the marketing and distribution of fresh products, located in the La Selva region with a significant national presence, and which currently has a growth plan that requires them to incorporate a SENIOR R&D & CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT TECHNICIAN who brings solid experience in a position of similar characteristics, preferably in a food company or in a company directly related to food products.

What you'll do

Reporting directly to the Plant General Management, the main tasks of the selected person, focused on the research and development of new products and the continuous improvement of production processes, will be:

Coordinate and participate in new food product development projects, with the corresponding planning of objectives, timing, testing, analysis of results, reformulation, presentation of prototypes, and presentation of results and conclusions.
Coordinate and participate in projects to improve existing products and in the adaptation of foods to the specific needs of each client/consumer.
Coordinate and execute projects for the design and implementation of new production processes, and production process improvement projects, from the viewpoints of final product quality, food safety, and the efficiency of the product manufacturing process.
Participate in the management of public funding projects and collaborations with technological centers, universities, and external collaborators.
Supervise and participate in the approval process for new raw materials, auxiliary materials, and additives.
Verify the specifications of developed products (raw material, production processes, quality conditions,...), and verify the technical data sheets of the created and/or optimized products.
Supervise and participate in weekly and comparative product tastings, and prepare the samples required by the commercial area.
Participate in the most important trade fairs in the sector, at an international level.
