About the role

Our client, a well-established company in the construction industry located in Alicante (Baix Vinalopó area), is looking to hire a People Manager with a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar position. The successful candidate must have fluent English and a proven track record in leading and developing people strategies within a dynamic business environment.

  • At least 5 years of experience in similar roles.
  • Advanced English proficiency is required.

What you'll do

  • Design and roll out a Management by Objectives (MBO) framework: cascade company strategy into departmental and individual objectives, define measurable KPIs for each role, and run the goal-setting, mid-year review, and year-end assessment cycle.
  • Link the MBO framework to variable compensation, ensuring objectives are consistent, measurable, and fairly weighted across functions, and coordinating the annual bonus calculation with Finance.
  • Implement and run the performance and competency appraisal cycle (EVA), combining objective achievement with competency assessment, including calibration sessions and structured feedback conversations.
  • Design and maintain a talent management framework: talent mapping and segmentation, identification of key roles and high-potential employees, and succession plans for critical positions.
  • Build individual development plans and career paths that connect appraisal outcomes with training, internal mobility, and promotion decisions.
  • Manage the HR implications of a workforce in continuous travel: assembly, installation, and project teams deployed to client sites across Spain and internationally.
  • Own the posting-of-workers framework - A1 certificates, prior notifications to host-country authorities, applicable working conditions under EU posted worker rules, and travel and expense policies - in coordination with external advisors.
  • Ensure Health & Safety obligations travel with the team: pre-deployment training, site-specific risk assessments, coordination of business activities with clients and subcontractors, and documentation of every deployment.
  • Supervise and ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations, implementing effective preventative measures.
  • Coordinate documentation and processes related to workplace safety and risk assessments, in liaison with the external prevention service.
  • Act as liaison with the Workers' Council and manage labour relations in collaboration with external advisors.
  • Collaborate with external payroll providers to ensure accurate and timely processing of monthly salaries, including travel allowances and variable pay.
  • Manage wellbeing initiatives and flexible compensation and benefits programmes.
  • Maintain and manage employee documentation (contracts, records, etc.), ensuring compliance and accuracy.
  • Support onboarding processes to facilitate seamless integration for new team members.
  • Handle ad hoc recruitment needs, focusing on strategic roles aligned with business priorities.
  • Assist in the annual training and development plan in collaboration with the local management team.

What you'll get

  • Competitive salary aligned with experience and market standards.
  • The opportunity to design a people management model from the ground up, with real ownership and visibility at management level.
  • Hybrid work options based on role requirements.
  • Continuous training in safety protocols and HR tools.
  • Being part of a passionate and dedicated team in a rapidly growing sector.
