We are looking to incorporate an Electrical Planning Technician - Forecasting and Coverage to join the Electrical Planning Department team at Red Eléctrica.
What you'll do
1. Analyze and prepare medium and long-term electrical system planning studies, integrating demand, generation, and grid scenarios, to support the Transmission Grid development proposal.
2. Define, apply, and evolve planning criteria, methodologies, and tools, ensuring technical coherence, traceability of studies, and alignment with the current regulatory framework.
3. Integrate technical information provided by system agents and other internal units, guaranteeing the consistency and quality of data used in planning studies.
4. Prepare and maintain Transmission Grid development proposals, including national and international interconnections, ensuring their technical viability and alignment with planning horizons.
5. Develop and update support tools for planning studies. Manage and exploit information and planning databases, ensuring their updating, quality, and suitability for conducting studies and scenarios.
6. Participate in the development and review of procedures, regulations, and innovation projects, contributing to the continuous improvement of the quality and efficiency of the electrical planning process.
7. Participate in national and international studies and forums related to electrical planning and markets, providing Redeia's technical perspective in its field of expertise (e.g., ENTSO-E, MedTSO, CIGRE, and others).
8. Develop and analyze scenarios for the evolution of the electrical system, considering regulatory frameworks, economic signals, integration with other sectors, etc., for their integration into system planning.
9. Evaluate the technical and economic impact of planning scenarios, to support decision-making on the efficient development of the electrical system.
10. Analyze system coverage, including adequacy calculations necessary to support regulatory decisions for the correct adaptation of the system.
11. Evaluate the socio-economic benefit of interconnection development alternatives, from the perspective of market studies, supporting the justification of developments based on system efficiency criteria.
