Data Scientist

• Knowledge of Python and PySpark, applied to the development of analytical and Artificial Intelligence solutions.
• Practical knowledge in the use of generative AI models (LLMs) applied to business cases.
• Knowledge of metrics and techniques for evaluating, monitoring, and quality control in AI solutions.
• Knowledge of data quality principles, security, and compliance applicable to advanced analytics and AI projects.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, or another technical degree.

• Professional experience of at least 4 years in data science departments, with participation in advanced analytics projects and Artificial Intelligence solutions.
• Practical experience in projects that incorporate generative AI models (LLMs) and agentic AI applied to real business cases.
• Knowledge of prompting techniques and evaluation of Gen AI systems, as well as best practices for ensuring the quality of Gen AI systems, such as the use of guardrails.
• Participation in insurance sector projects and experience working in other insurance companies will be positively valued.
• Experience in teamwork.
• Experience in coordinating and leading analytical and AI projects.
• Advanced mathematical and statistical knowledge, and in data preparation techniques (structured and unstructured, including text) and creation of different types of Machine Learning models such as time series, regression models, and support for generative AI solutions.
• Experience in evaluating, monitoring, and improving generative AI models and solutions, including quality, usage, and results control metrics.
• A PhD will be positively valued.

• Collaborate with the leaders of your unit and with the rest of the business and technical areas in the definition and development of analytical, Machine Learning, and AI projects, including generative AI, ensuring compliance with deadlines and expectations, supervising committed deliverables, and proactively reporting progress, blockers, and potential risks.
• Work hand in hand with the different areas of the Santalucía Group and the Agency Network to deeply understand business problems, applying active listening and considering the particularities of each unit in the definition of data- and AI-based solutions.
• Analyze existing information and propose new approaches to enrich it, including the use of structured and unstructured data, with the aim of solving business challenges through analytical solutions and traditional and generative AI.
• Design, evaluate, and evolve solutions based on Artificial Intelligence applied to real use cases, ensuring their alignment with business objectives and the group's technical standards.
• Define when to use generative AI models versus traditional machine learning models, rules, or other analytical approaches, applying technical and business judgment.
• Design and maintain AI solutions integrated with corporate data, as well as define different utility metrics for the business and for the Data Science team.
• Promote the responsible and controlled use of data and AI within the company, in accordance with internal security, privacy, compliance policies, and established quality and legal standards.
• Provide data processing and preparation capabilities when necessary, as support for analytical and AI solutions, ensuring the quality of the information used.
• Interpret the results of analytical models, Machine Learning, and generative AI systems, identify improvement opportunities, and propose alternative strategies, clearly communicating processes and conclusions to both technical and business profiles.
• Define and supervise KPIs to monitor analytical models and AI solutions, including performance, quality, usage, cost, latency metrics, potential drifts, and governance metrics.
• Lead Data Science and AI projects individually or in collaboration with other team members and consulting teams, acting as a technical reference.
• Maintain and improve existing analytical and AI solutions, ensuring their proper evolution and operability in production environments.
• Document the developed solutions, justifying the technical decisions made and defining the associated operational processes.
• Collaborate in the processes of identification, evaluation, and negotiation with providers of analytical and traditional and generative AI solutions, participating in the definition of the technical and control requirements necessary for the proper development of projects.

• Communication skills with technical and business profiles, presentation management, task coordination skills, and ability to work in multidisciplinary teams.
• Preparation of reports and dashboards in reporting tools to communicate results of analytical models and AI solutions.
• Ability to clearly explain the functioning, limitations, and results of AI solutions to non-technical audiences.
