What we're looking for

  • 4 to 6 years of professional experience in civil engineering: public or private works, infrastructure, building or construction and assembly, at a construction company, engineering firm, concession holder or administration.
  • Customer orientation and commercial aptitude: a fundamental requirement. Ability to build trust, defend technical criteria before third parties, and develop relationships with clients and brokers.
  • Knowledge of public works and infrastructure, construction processes, works planning, and measurements and budgets.
  • Analytical skills, attention to detail, and communication skills.
  • High level of English.
  • Availability to travel nationally and internationally.
  • Own vehicle.
  • Proficiency in IT tools and case file management.

Nice to have

  • We value knowledge of the insurance market: construction and assembly policies (CAR/EAR), property damage and loss of profits, loss adjusting or claims management.
  • We value experience in preparing technical reports and economic valuation of damages.

The role

A Loss Adjuster for Property Damage with a degree in Civil Engineering (Roads, Canals and Ports) with consolidated experience in their professional field, having worked in civil engineering, public or private works, infrastructure, building, construction and assembly, for the assessment, analysis and management of construction and infrastructure claims. Client orientation and commercial aptitudes are essential, and knowledge of the insurance market is valued.

What you'll do

  • Carry out inspections and technical assessments of damage in civil works, infrastructure and building: roads, railways, tunnels, dams, ports, hydraulic works, energy and renewable installations.
  • Analyze the causes and circumstances of claims: natural events and return periods, design or execution errors, settlements, geotechnical failures, and material defects.
  • Prepare expert reports and all the technical documentation supporting the claim.
  • Quantify damages and estimate repair or replacement costs, delineating improvement works relative to the original project and valuing indirect costs, overheads, and profit.
  • Analyze the impact on the construction schedule and the critical path, and assess losses due to delayed commissioning.
  • Apply and interpret the specific conditions of construction and erection policies.
  • Coordinate with clients, insurers, brokers, and other experts involved in the files.
  • Provide technical follow-up on claims until resolution, leading the technical negotiation with the insurers' adjusters.
  • Participate in meetings with clients to explain conclusions and recommendations, acting as the reference technical point of contact.
  • Contribute to business development: identify opportunities among construction companies, concession holders, developers and brokers, support the preparation of proposals, and build loyalty within the portfolio.
