About the role

ArcelorMittal Spain is looking to hire a Production Shift Manager for our industrial facilities in Asturias. The selected candidate will be fully responsible for operations during their shift, leading the team and coordinating Production, Safety, Environment, and Maintenance activities to ensure safe, efficient, and results-oriented operations.

We are especially looking for a person with an industrial mindset and a hands-on approach, capable of identifying issues and actively participating in their resolution alongside the Production and Maintenance teams.

What you'll do

  • Lead the Production team during the shift, maintaining an active presence on the plant floor and directly supervising operations.
  • Coordinate the human and technical resources needed to ensure the smooth running of the shift.
  • Act as the operational point of reference, maintaining close communication with the teams and actively managing incidents and relevant situations.
  • Ensure compliance with Safety, Health, and Environment standards, procedures, and regulations by both in-house staff and contractor companies.
  • Identify risks, promote preventive actions, and participate in incident investigation and follow-up.
  • Supervise the production process during the shift to ensure compliance with Safety, Quality, Production, Cost, and Environment objectives.
  • Make operational decisions when process deviations occur, setting priorities and coordinating the necessary resources.
  • Coordinate start-ups, scheduled shutdowns, and special operational situations.
  • Work closely with the Process, Maintenance, and other technical teams to ensure the stability and improvement of the facilities.

Requirements

  • Education:
    • Degree in Engineering (Industrial, Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, Energy, Process Engineering, or similar).
    • Master's degree in Occupational Risk Prevention.
  • Experience:
    • Previous experience in a similar role in industrial environments and/or continuous production processes.
    • Experience in leading or coordinating work teams.
