The role

Excited to grow your career?

Learn more about the area:

Service Resilience & Business Continuity, the area where the engineering model will be defined and implemented to incorporate resilience from design and during any change that may impact production environments.

We are looking for a senior technical leader with strategic vision and deep experience in engineering, resilience, and the operation of technological platforms to lead the Resilience Design function, responsible for defining and implementing the engineering model that allows for the incorporation of resilience from design and during any change that may impact production environments.

This role will lead the evolution from a model where resilience is primarily validated in operation toward a resilience-by-design approach, in which resilience requirements, patterns, and controls form an integral part of the technological lifecycle.

Your mission will be to industrialize preventive resilience, ensuring:

  • Resilience by Design.
  • Definition of resilience engineering standards and patterns.
  • Evolution of the Systematics and its Quality Gates.
  • Alignment of resilience requirements with the regulatory framework and first/second level of defense.
  • Pre-production resilience validation.
  • Continuous learning from production to evolve design standards

The position of Principal Manager of Resilience Design is responsible for defining, implementing, and evolving the Resilience Engineering model of Tech Stack & Ops, incorporating resilience as an intrinsic property of the design, construction, and evolution of technological capabilities and services.

Your responsibility begins before production: you establish which resilience conditions services must meet, how they must be designed to respond to failures, and what evidence they must provide before introducing changes into production.

Furthermore, the function connects the learning obtained during operation, resilience exercises, and real incidents with the evolution of engineering patterns, controls, and practices, creating a continuous cycle of resilience improvement.

What you'll do

Main responsibilities:

  • Define the Resilience Engineering strategy, principles, and framework.
  • Establish the availability, fault tolerance, controlled degradation, and recovery requirements that must be considered from the design stage.
  • Define resilience patterns and best practices reusable across different platforms.
  • Work jointly with Architecture Design to integrate resilience within the solution design process.
  • Define the Quality Gates and required evidence before introducing changes into production.
  • Drive the automation of resilience controls within engineering processes.
  • Ensure a homogeneous application of the framework across different disciplines and geographies.
  • Progressively evolve from declarative controls toward evidence-based validations.
  • Analyze learnings from production, recurring tests, incidents, and recovery exercises.
  • Define and manage the evolution roadmap for the implementation and adoption of controls within the technological lifecycle.
  • Establish metrics that allow for measuring the degree of adoption and maturity of the model.
  • Drive a culture where resilience is an engineering responsibility and not solely an incident response capability.
