As part of our Facilities Engineering Division, we actively participate in a diversity of cutting-edge projects, establishing strategic collaborations with leading clients in the Petrochemical, Chemical, Energy, Pharmaceutical, Food, Construction, and Civil Engineering sectors.

Currently, we are looking for a Subcontracts Engineer to reinforce one of our key teams in Madrid or Bilbao.

As a Subcontracts Engineer, your main responsibilities will include:

• Comprehensive Subcontract Management: Supervise and administer all aspects of subcontracts from inception to closure, ensuring compliance with agreed terms and conditions.
• Negotiation and Contracting: Lead negotiations with potential subcontractors, draft and review contracts, ensuring that agreements are fair, clear, and protect the interests of BETWEEN Group.
• Selection and Evaluation: Actively participate in the selection and evaluation process of subcontractors, based on technical, economic, and reliability criteria.
• Monitoring and Control: Monitor subcontractor performance in terms of deadlines, quality, costs, and compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
• Risk Management: Identify, evaluate, and mitigate risks associated with subcontracts, proposing corrective actions when necessary.
• Financial Management: Supervise invoicing, payments, and the management of contractual variations (change orders, addenda, etc.).
• Dispute Resolution: Act as the main point of contact for the resolution of any dispute or claim that may arise with subcontractors.
• Interdepartmental Collaboration: Work in close collaboration with the engineering, project, legal, and finance teams to ensure project alignment and success.
• Reporting: Prepare periodic reports on the status of subcontracts, risks, and subcontractor performance for management.
• Continuous Improvement: Propose and implement improvements in subcontract management processes.

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in similar roles, managing subcontracts in the engineering and/or construction field.
• Solid knowledge in the negotiation, drafting, and supervision of contracts and agreements with subcontractors.
• Demonstrable experience in the management of contractual and financial risks associated with subcontracts.
• Ability for the analysis of offers, and the selection of suppliers and subcontractors.
• Knowledge of legal regulations and best practices regarding contracting and subcontracting.
• Skill for conflict resolution and claims management.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
• Specific training in contract management or similar will be positively valued.
• Fluency in Spanish (native or bilingual).
• A B2 or higher level of technical English will be a considerable advantage.
