Your higher education will be a university degree in Business Administration, Economics, Business Management, Engineering, or related disciplines. Postgraduate studies (MBA, Master in Finance, or similar) or certifications such as CFA will be positively valued.
You will provide a minimum of 4 to 6 years of experience in banking or financial boutiques within areas such as Corporate Lending, Leveraged Finance, M&A, Debt Advisory, Corporate Banking, Debt Restructuring, or Risk.
You will have developed most of your career in corporate finance and/or M&A, actively participating in the structuring and execution of transactions.
You will have experience preparing pitches and proposals for clients.
You must have a very advanced level of Spanish and English, both oral and written. Knowledge of a third language will be a plus.
You will provide solid knowledge of Corporate Lending products and experience in the structuring and execution of financing transactions.
You will have in-depth knowledge of the national and international corporate finance market and its main trends.
You will have advanced proficiency in financial modeling and the use of tools such as Excel, PowerPoint, and Word. Knowledge of Bloomberg will be positively valued.
Experience in international environments will be positively valued.

We are currently looking to recruit in Madrid (preferably) or Barcelona our future Associate / VP to join the Corporate Lending area, which is part of the CIB Structured Finance Department.

What you'll do

What you will do in your day-to-day...

Your main mission will be to support the origination, structuring, and execution of Corporate Lending transactions for both Investment Grade (IG) and sub-IG corporate clients, as well as clients from the Business network. As an experienced contributor, you will focus on the preparation of marketing materials, analysis of qualitative and quantitative information, development of financial models, preparation of risk files, analysis/review of legal documentation, and the comprehensive internal management of each transaction.

You must execute the above with a vision that combines both the traditional balance sheet business model and an O-t-D origination and distribution model, incorporating both Corporate Lending products and other Investment Banking products into the client offering.

As an Associate / VP of Corporate Lending, you will manage the following responsibilities with a high degree of autonomy:

You will prepare pitches for clients and draft financing offers, which will include the potential use of specific Corporate Lending instruments such as Term Loans (TL-Bs, TL-As, RCFs, Capex, Guarantee Lines, Bridges, etc.), private placements, HY Bonds, IG-Bonds, and other bilateral or syndicated facilities, in addition to any other CIB product.
You will analyze all information corresponding to a transaction: teaser, infomemo, due diligence, structure memorandums, public information, etc.
You will develop complex financial models.
You will prepare the risk files for assigned transactions and defend them before Risk.
You will assist in the management and review of legal documentation and the KYC process linked to the transactions.
You will interact with external stakeholders (corporate clients, advisors, other banks, etc.) and internal stakeholders (coverage, syndicate, legal counsel, risk, etc.).
You will build and maintain a solid network of relationships with these stakeholders.
