Engineering Manager

• Experience as an Engineering Manager, Tech Lead Manager, CTO, Head of Engineering, or similar role, leading technical development teams, ideally of 10 or more people.
• Solid technical background, with previous experience as a developer or hands-on profile and the ability to dive into technical details when necessary, collaborating with development teams and Technical Leads on technical conversations, architecture, integrations, or unblocking bottlenecks.
• Experience in backend, APIs, system integrations, tech product, or API-first environments; Java experience is highly valued.
• Experience in product environments with high organizational, operational, and business complexity, managing dependencies between teams, technology, product, and stakeholders.
• Ability to proactively identify blockers before they impact the team, whether they are cross-team dependencies, productivity issues, lack of focus, or poorly grounded user stories.
• Experience improving delivery, planning, prioritization, incident management, and workflow processes, with a practical agile approach adapted to the context.
• Experience making decisions based on real team, delivery, quality, workload, or productivity metrics, with the ability to define, interpret, or evolve useful metrics that help understand what is happening and how to improve.
• Technical background and interest or hands-on experience with AI tools applied to development, productivity, analysis, or team management.

We are expanding our team and looking for an Engineering Manager with a solid technical background, experience in backend/API/tech product, and the ability to make decisions based on real delivery, quality, and team metrics for a stable, permanent project. Remote work model.

Mission: take on a tactical role very close to day-to-day operations, working hand in hand with the Technical Lead and the Product Owner. With the ability to anticipate blockers, manage dependencies, and ensure things get resolved.

Delivery, metrics, and resolution

• Ensure predictable, stable, and high-quality delivery.
• Identify and unblock technical, organizational, product, or cross-team dependency issues.
• Optimize planning, prioritization, incident management, and workflow processes.
• Make decisions based on real team and delivery metrics, such as predictability, throughput, workload, quality, blockers, efficiency, or flow evolution.
• Define, interpret, and evolve useful metrics, avoiding reliance on basic indicators alone.

Team and work environment management

• Lead technical teams in complex, demanding, and changing environments.
• Ensure the team has clear ownership, context, stability, and the means to perform sustainably.
• Detect friction, burnout, blockers, or weak signals that could impact performance.
• Build a solid structure that allows the team to operate autonomously and stably.

Technical and product vision

• Bring recent hands-on experience as a developer or in a technical profile.
• Be able to understand technical conversations, spot bottlenecks, and dive into details when necessary, e.g., PRs, technical design, architecture, or integrations.
• Collaborate with the Technical Lead on technical decisions, quality, architecture, dependencies, and system evolution.
• Work with the Product Owner/Product Manager to ensure priorities, user stories, and business needs are well grounded.
• Provide context in backend, APIs, system integrations, or API/API-first products.

Operations, dependencies, and AI

• Manage dependencies between teams, areas, and stakeholders to prevent blockers.
• Ensure clear operating models for incidents, on-call, availability, escalations, and service coverage.
• Drive monitoring and tracking processes with a structured, actionable, and preferably automated foundation.
• Promote the practical use of AI tools to improve documentation, analysis, development support, efficiency, and reduce operational friction.
