The role

Established company in the lime and calcium carbonate derivatives sector, located in Sales de Llierca, dedicated to the production of quicklime, hydrated lime, and precipitated calcium carbonate (PCC) from limestone from its own quarry. We are hiring a reactor operator for process control of the hydration and carbonation process from the control room.

What you'll do

Main duties

Control and monitoring of the hydration and/or carbonation reactors through the computerized process control system (SCADA / DCS) from the control room.

Continuous monitoring of key reaction parameters: temperature, pressure, quicklime feed flow rate, water and/or CO₂ dosing, residence time, and quality of the product obtained.

Regulation of process variables to ensure the reactivity, purity, and particle size of the final product (slaked lime / calcium hydroxide, precipitated calcium carbonate) according to technical specifications.

Performing periodic plant rounds for visual inspection of reactors, piping, valves, pumps, silos, and auxiliary systems.

Collecting product samples at different process points and coordinating with the quality control laboratory.

Detecting alarms, process anomalies, or parameter deviations; providing first-level resolution and notifying the shift supervisor and the maintenance department when necessary.

Recording production data, consumption, and incidents in the computer system and preparing the shift report.

Performing reactor start-up and shutdown procedures according to protocol.

Strict compliance with safety, occupational health, and environmental regulations (handling of quicklime and caustic products, dusty atmospheres, work with CO₂, use of PPE).

Collaborating in scheduled maintenance shutdowns and in keeping the workplace clean and orderly.
