About the role

The Risks and Insurance area of the Telefónica Group is the unit responsible for financing the Group's insurable risks and supporting the Operators in the marketing of insurance products for their customers and employees. The area manages a Non-Life insurance company (TELEFÓNICA SEGUROS), with branches in the United Kingdom and Germany, a reinsurance captive (NOVA CASIOPEA RE) and a Group of Brokerages (TELEFÓNICA CORREDURÍA), through which it implements its strategy and policy.

Ensure the preparation, reporting, and control of financial information for the entities comprising the Risk and Insurance Area of the Telefónica Group, ensuring the reliability of financial and technical information, compliance with regulatory, tax, and audit requirements, as well as proper governance of the processes and functions under their responsibility.   • Lead and coordinate the Administration, Accounting, and Reporting team, promoting efficient management aligned with corporate policies and oriented toward operational excellence.
  • Manage financial and regulatory reporting for the insurance entities, including IFRS, local GAAP, and other regulatory requirements, ensuring the quality, consistency, and timeliness of the information.
  • Oversee the tax obligations of the various entities, ensuring compliance with regulations regarding Corporate Income Tax, VAT, IPT, and other applicable taxes.
  • Coordinate accounting, administrative, billing, treasury, payment, collection, and creditor/debtor management processes, ensuring the correct execution of operations.
  • Ensure the preparation of financial statements, annual accounts, consolidated reports, and other external financial information, safeguarding their reliability, traceability, and compliance.
  • Oversee the generation of technical insurance information and settlements with insurers, reinsurers, and intermediaries, ensuring the correct application of technical and financial criteria.
  • Coordinate relationships with internal and external auditors, as well as with the Group's corporate financial and tax areas.
  • Promote automation, efficiency, and continuous improvement initiatives that help strengthen internal control and optimize financial and reporting processes.
