The Future Connectivity Lab team aims to explore, test, and detect strategic capabilities surrounding new connectivities in 5G+ and 6G networks, enabling the development of new products and business opportunities for Telefónica. We are a multidisciplinary team with a startup mindset that combines technical and research profiles with a high capacity for disruption and the implementation of functional solutions.

A large part of our activity is carried out by participating in European and state projects, where the innovation and project management component is a very relevant factor in the development of pilots alongside the integration of new technologies. This contact with the latest trends and solutions enables us to collaborate with different areas of Telefónica when defining the next steps in the networks of the future.

Operationally, we leverage the technologies that are transforming the way connectivity is offered—5G and 6G, Cloud Continuum and Edge Computing, network virtualization and programmability, and artificial intelligence—with a focus on accelerating the market arrival of these technologies in Telefónica products. As a candidate, you will be part of the technical team working towards achieving the commitments we maintain both with European projects and with the different areas of Telefónica.

Your activity will revolve around the multiple projects in which we are involved and collaboration in the preparation of new proposals for the arrival of new projects.

We are looking for a senior profile to analyze new system architectures and cloud platforms and put them into practice through deployments, integration, and validation in the laboratory.

The position combines technical coordination with a regular hands-on dedication. The person will assume the implementation and operation of laboratory environments, automate deployments, and resolve incidents, coordinating milestones and dependencies with internal teams and partners.

How will you contribute your capabilities to the purpose of the role? 💼

• Coordinate technical activities for networks, cloud, and integration with internal teams, vendors, and partners, managing milestones, risks, and dependencies.
• Analyze architectures, blueprints, and integration plans, translating requirements into verifiable configurations, deliverables, and acceptance criteria.
• Deploy and operate the laboratory: servers, Linux, virtualization, Kubernetes, storage, and connectivity; maintain inventory, access, versions, and recovery procedures.
• Integrate mobile network components and cloud/edge platforms in distributed scenarios, diagnosing connectivity, infrastructure, and service incidents.
• Implement and integrate orchestration flows between domains for provisioning, location selection, scaling, and service recovery, considering policies and quality of service objectives.
• Contribute to an XaaS framework through service catalogs, exposure APIs, and flows that translate requests into composed services and orchestrator operations.
• Develop and integrate portable and replicable computing and connectivity services, with versioned deployment packages, documented interfaces, and lifecycle automation.
• Automate deployments and tests with infrastructure as code and CI/CD, maintaining reproducible environments and operating procedures.
• Define and execute end-to-end tests of service provisioning and consumption, measuring deployment times, performance, availability, and interoperability; document evidence and resolve defects with partners.
• Prepare technical contributions to deliverables and new proposals, document decisions and results, and participate in reviews and demonstrations.
• Represent Telefónica in consortium meetings and integration sessions. The position involves regular travel.
• Resolve integration problems between heterogeneous technologies and transform designs into functional deployments, with autonomy and result orientation.
• Maintain laboratory stability during experimentation and ensure traceability between requirements, configurations, and test results.
