We are seeking a Lead Planning Engineer to join a team in Madrid for a long-term international project within the Oil & Gas sector. The selected candidate will lead project planning and scheduling activities, coordinating schedules, milestones, and execution monitoring within a large-scale EPC/PMC environment. This is a strategic project for ARAMCO, working with Primavera P6 and applying client standards and procedures. The role offers the opportunity to join an international engineering team and participate in one of the most relevant projects in the energy sector.

What you'll do

  • Lead project planning and scheduling, ensuring compliance with milestones, deadlines, and established objectives.
  • Develop, update, and maintain integrated engineering, procurement, and construction schedules using Primavera P6.
  • Monitor project progress, identifying deviations, risks, and impacts on the schedule, and propose corrective actions.
  • Coordinate planning activities with the different engineering, procurement, construction, and project management teams.
  • Analyze critical paths, dependencies, and execution sequences to optimize the overall project schedule.
  • Prepare periodic progress reports, planning metrics, and forecasts for project management and the client.
  • Participate in coordination meetings with international teams and the client, ensuring alignment of project objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with planning standards, procedures, and requirements for Oil & Gas projects under ARAMCO specifications.
  • Support decision-making through scenario analysis, forecasts, and schedule recovery strategies when necessary.
  • Act as the planning reference within the project, providing overall vision and technical leadership in schedule management.

Requirements

  • Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent technical degree.
  • Minimum of 12 years of experience in planning and scheduling of large-scale industrial projects, preferably within Oil & Gas, petrochemical, or energy sectors.
  • Previous experience in EPC and/or PMC projects.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience using Primavera P6 for schedule development and monitoring.
  • Experience in critical path analysis, progress measurement, deviation management, and schedule reporting.
  • Experience in gas processing facilities or process plants within the Oil & Gas sector.
  • Familiarity with ARAMCO standards and specifications is a mandatory requirement for this position.
  • Previous experience on projects in the Middle East will be highly valued.
  • Advanced English level (C1) is required to work in an international environment and participate in technical meetings with clients and global teams.
  • Ability to coordinate planning activities with multidisciplinary teams and participate in complex international projects.
