About the role

The mission of the department is the constant monitoring of regulatory changes, management of regulatory alerts and the establishment of positions in coordination with the different areas within its remit. Additionally, through the Regulatory Implementation Management (RIM) function, we control and coordinate the implementation of all regulations affecting the CaixaBank Group. To do so, we detect regulatory developments affecting the Group; we inform departments, subsidiaries and international branches; we ensure the adaptation of policies, processes, contracts and systems in accordance with the new regulations; and we prepare reports addressed to the Governing Bodies on published regulations and the status of implementation projects.   


The projects you will take on in this position are: 

Legal expert who advises the entity in order to ensure compliance with the regulations in force at any given time and to resolve any issues that may arise in the different areas (commercial, labour, procedural, etc.) and avoid penalties. The legal advisor may take part in negotiation processes, advise on contracting matters, draft contracts, provide advice on policies, etc.

What you'll do

  • Identification, analysis and monitoring of legislative initiatives in the areas of Digital, Data and Payments (Artificial Intelligence, digital identity, Digital Markets Act – DMA, Payments (PSD3 and developments), or cybersecurity, among others) that may affect the group and channelling them internally to the relevant departments.
  • Dissemination of proposed regulatory changes and internal coordination with the affected departments in preparing the institutional position on new legislative initiatives.
  • Presentation of the position in the Expert Groups held monthly, with the aim of discussing and defining the Group's position on legislative and regulatory initiatives with an impact.
  • Defence of CaixaBank's position within associations (CECA, ESBG, Adigital, DigitalEurope, among others).
  • Communication to each of the affected departments of the legislative developments of the identified regulations until their approval.
  • Coordination of regulatory implementation, designating those responsible, categorising regulations and supervising compliance.

What we're looking for

  • Degree in Law.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in banking regulation in the areas of digital, data and payments, regulatory implementation, and digital project development.
  • Knowledge of artificial intelligence and digital identity.
  • Experience in financial institutions, supervisors or Big4 (FS Regulatory) - consulting or project management (PMO).
  • High level of spoken and written English.

Nice to have

  • Previous experience in consulting or project management (PMO) is valued.
