Scientific Training, Medical Capabilities & Excellence Lead

Ferrer is seeking a Scientific Training, Medical Capabilities & Excellence Lead to shape global scientific training, strengthen capabilities across the ONE MEDICAL community, and embed consistent excellence in external medical education and medical congress activities. Reporting to the Corporate Medical Excellence Director, this global individual-contributor role connects scientific learning, robust governance and measurable impact while protecting independent, evidence-based scientific exchange.

• Lead the global scientific training strategy and develop accurate, balanced and compliant learning content for corporate products in alignment with Therapeutic Area and Corporate Medical Affairs priorities.
• Assess scientific, functional and interpersonal capability needs; drive MedSkills and the MSL capability roadmap in collaboration with Field Medical Excellence.
• Oversee scientific training platforms, learning standards, rollout and performance measurement; equip affiliates with scalable guidance, frameworks and tools.
• Develop and continuously improve the Medical Excellence governance framework for external medical education, including activity briefs, decision gates, annual planning, readiness checks and post-activity reviews.
• Coordinate congress excellence processes, supporting medical congress tiering and portfolio prioritization, proportionate use of a governance model, the Medical Congress Playbook and cross-functional readiness and debriefs.
• Partner with Medical Leads, local Medical Affairs, Scientific Communications, Medical Information, Compliance/Legal, Pharmacovigilance and Product Quality to ensure clear ownership, approvals and escalation pathways.
• Define and track meaningful indicators for training effectiveness, capability uplift, educational outcomes, congress readiness, actionable insights and continuous improvement.

• Background: University degree in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, Medicine or a related scientific discipline. An advanced scientific qualification is an advantage.
• Experience: Relevant experience of at least 4 years in Medical Affairs, scientific training, medical excellence, medical education or medical congress planning in a regulated healthcare environment; experience collaborating with global and affiliate teams.
• Skills (technical): Scientific literature appraisal and translation of complex evidence into balanced learning; training-needs assessment, instructional design and learning platforms; capability frameworks and learning assessment; medical education and congress governance, project planning, decision gates and KPIs; dashboards, data interpretation and vendor coordination; working knowledge of non-promotional HCP engagement, scientific content review, privacy, Medical Information and PV/Product Quality interfaces.
• Competencies (soft): Strategic thinking, proactive ownership, prioritization, adaptability, strong project management, clear communication, facilitation, stakeholder engagement, collaboration, influencing without authority, attention to detail and continuous-improvement mindset.
• Languages: Excellent written and spoken English, including scientific communication and cross-functional facilitation. Additional languages are an advantage.
• Other: Comfortable operating in a global matrix without direct reports and coordinating multiple parallel initiatives. Availability for occasional international travel, depending on business needs.
