Cepsa
Cepsa, now operating under the brand Moeve, is a major integrated energy company headquartered in Madrid, Spain. It operates across the entire energy value chain, from exploration and production of oil and gas to refining, chemicals, and the marketing of fuels and lubricants. With a workforce of approximately 10,000 people, the company is focused on transitioning to cleaner energy, with significant investments in renewable hydrogen, biofuels, and sustainable mobility, as well as a network of service stations under the Cepsa and Ballenoil brands.
Company History
Founded in 1929 as Compañía Española de Petróleos S.A., Cepsa grew from an oil exploration and refining company into one of Spain's leading industrial groups. Over the decades it expanded into chemicals, aviation, and marine fuels, and in 2011 was acquired by the International Petroleum Investment Company (IPIC), now Mubadala Investment Company, of the UAE. Recently rebranded as Moeve, the company is reinventing itself to lead the energy transition in Spain and Portugal.
