The role

Design, develop, and implement digital twins, hybrid models, and machine learning models applied to industrial processes.
Collaborate with process experts to understand asset behavior, identify relevant variables, and incorporate physical/chemical knowledge into analytical solutions.
Formulate and implement mathematical optimization problems, defining decision variables, constraints, objective functions, and validation criteria.
Develop end-to-end pipelines in Python and AWS, covering data preparation, feature engineering, training, validation, evaluation, and model deployment.
Ensure solutions are scalable, maintainable, traceable, and secure, following good software and data engineering practices.
Communicate results, hypotheses, limitations, and recommendations to technical and business stakeholders.

What will be your role?

Integrated into the TPS area, within the Data Science team, you will participate in developing advanced analytical solutions for Digital Transformation initiatives in industrial environments.

The main focus of the position will be on projects related to developing models for industrial plants (digital twins), combining process knowledge, machine learning techniques, hybrid models, and mathematical optimization.

You will work alongside technical teams, business teams, and process experts to translate complex industrial challenges into robust, scalable, and actionable models and solutions.

Who are we looking for?

Education in Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or related disciplines.
A master's or doctoral degree in areas related to data science, modeling, optimization, industrial processes, or energy will be especially valued.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in data science, modeling, mathematical optimization, or analytical solutions in industrial environments.
Knowledge of industrial processes, acquired through professional experience or technical training.
Experience in developing digital twins, hybrid models, physics-based data-driven models, or industrial simulation/modeling solutions.
Experience in the formulation, development, and implementation of mathematical optimization problems.
Strong Python skills.
Experience working in cloud environments, especially AWS.
Knowledge of good development practices: Git, testing, documentation, CI/CD, and maintainable code.
Minimum English level of B2, with the ability to work in international environments and prepare technical documentation or presentations as needed.

It would be ideal if you also:

Specific experience in processes related to electrolyzers, energy, chemistry, or complex industrial systems.
Familiarity with mathematical optimization libraries in Python, such as Pyomo, PuLP, OR-Tools, or other equivalent tools.
Knowledge of Data Science ecosystem libraries in Python, such as pandas, polars, scikit-learn, scipy, numpy, etc.
Experience with MLOps tools or services, such as MLflow, Kubeflow, SageMaker...
Ability to synthesize technical results and communicate them clearly to internal and external stakeholders.
