Sizing of the Materials Management and Engine Visits team, in line with the current increase in V2500 workload. With the aim of: 

  • Ensuring compliance with the target TAT of the engine project. 

  • Maximizing the economic profitability of the engine project. 

What you'll do

Mission and Responsibilities of the Position

The TMA for materials management and engine visits will participate in the monitoring process of the entire engine visit, from the tasks during the induction process to the collection of the engine for dispatch. They will be the one who looks after the client's interests in the Workshop and, therefore, is responsible for making the decisions that set the pace of the visit. 

The TMA will be responsible for interacting with the client frequently to keep them informed of the progress status of the visit, thereby accelerating decision-making such as scrap part replacement routes, engine stand repair, MPL part replacement, or exchange evaluation. Likewise, they will be responsible for interacting with engine life-limited part (LLP) suppliers to seek market options that help improve the economic profitability of current or future visits (based on the engine removal forecast provided by the client). 

Within the functions of this position, support must be provided to the Workshop for all incidents that may arise during the engine visit, from disassembly to certification, including the engine test. 

Under the Lean philosophy approach, the position will have a continuous improvement focus, developing projects to optimize processes and reduce waste.

Job functions 

  • Retrieve parts from the warehouse and make material reservations in SAP. 

  • Place purchase orders and service orders in SAP. 

  • Track the information in SAP regarding the different processes involved, mainly in Gate 2 of the engine visit. 

  • Monitor the engine's progress through the Gates and their intermediate processes using Sharepoint and other production control tools. 

  • Monitor the cost incurred during the engine visit to identify errors and potential losses of economic profit. 

  • Prepare reports to help Billing build the correct invoice, minimizing the number of client claims; in addition to making corrections to cost errors that could jeopardize the profitability of the engine visit. 

  • Provide support to the Engineering, Production, Planning, Vendor Management, Logistics, Billing and Offers areas. 

Position responsibilities

  • Know the contract governing each visit under their responsibility, as well as the scope of work defined by Engineering and the client for each engine. 

  • Perform warehouse withdrawals. 

  • Control the critical paths in the replacement of engine parts. 

  • Take the necessary actions regarding material replacement policy so that the engine visit is economically profitable. 

  • Escalate processes that put the engine visit at risk, both in terms of time and economic profit, including production stoppages, material losses or breakage, insurance claims, and work performed above the standard or contractual terms. 

  • Analyze and optimize the department's procedures and tools with a focus on continuous improvement.
