Researcher in Virtual Commissioning

• Education: Degree and/or Master's in Engineering (Industrial, Electronics, Robotics, or similar) or a related technical qualification.
• Experience:
  • Experience in "virtual commissioning" of assembly processes and industrialization projects.
  • Ability in the preparation of technical documentation and the creation of work standards.
• Technical Knowledge:
  • Knowledge of robotics, especially KUKA or ABB, including offline programming and program debugging.
  • Proficiency in TIA-Portal and industrial communication protocols.
  • Basic programming competencies.
  • Ability to design work methods and technical validation protocols.
  • Analytical capacity for the study of scientific publications, patents, and technical documentation. Knowledge of Process Simulate applied to assembly processes in the automotive sector (preferably with metal components) will be valued.

At TECNALIA, we want to strengthen the Industry and Mobility Unit, specifically the teams within the "Next Generation Factory" and "Production Means and Robotics" business areas, whose mission is to generate new business opportunities derived from the new challenges the Industrial sector must face to address the transition towards the Proactive Factory—a conscious, flexible, and connected factory. To this end, we are looking for a Researcher capable of researching technologies for the virtualization of assembly processes, using Process Simulate and Siemens tools.

The objective of this position is to lead process simulation and evolve the "virtual commissioning" capabilities of manufacturing cells, integrating advanced functionalities such as interaction with AGVs and the digital factory governance system to allow for anticipation of what will happen in the manufacturing cells. We are looking for a profile with technical rigor, standardization capacity, and the aptitude to lead digital transformation and the culture of technological change within the organization.

Your main duties will focus on the creation, optimization, and validation of virtual production environments:

• Research and develop technology capable of implementing detailed "virtual commissioning" models for assembly processes.
• Define, develop, and update standards for the implementation of virtual commissioning together with our clients.
• Detect, analyze, and resolve complex technical issues during simulation phases, working alongside companies in the manufacturing sector to solve industry problems.
• Support and promote, together with clients, the adoption of virtualization methodologies.
