About the role

At TECNALIA we want to strengthen the Industry and Mobility Unit, specifically the teams in the "Next Generation Factory" and "Production Means and Robotics" business areas, whose mission is to generate new business opportunities arising from the new challenges the Industrial sector must face in addressing the shift toward the Proactive Factory—a conscious, flexible, and connected factory. To this end, we are looking for a Researcher capable of researching virtualization technologies for assembly processes, using Process Simulate and Siemens tools.

The objective of this position is to lead process simulation and evolve the "virtual commissioning" capabilities of manufacturing cells, integrating advanced functionalities such as iteration with AGVs and the digital governance system of factories to anticipate what will happen in manufacturing cells. We are looking for a profile with technical rigor, standardization capability, and the aptitude to lead digital transformation and the culture of technological change within the organization.

What you'll do

What will you do?

Your main functions will focus on the creation, optimization, and validation of virtual production environments:

Research and develop technology capable of implementing detailed "virtual commissioning" models for assembly processes.

Define, develop, and update standards for the implementation of virtual commissioning together with our clients.

Detect, analyze, and resolve complex technical issues during simulation phases, working alongside manufacturing companies to solve industry problems.

Help and promote, together with clients, the adoption of virtualization methodologies.

Requirements

Education: Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in Engineering (Industrial, Electronic, Robotics, or similar) or a related technical qualification.

Experience:

Experience in "virtual commissioning" of assembly processes and industrialization projects.

Ability to prepare technical documentation and create work standards.

Technical Skills:

Knowledge of robotics, especially KUKA or ABB, including offline programming and program debugging.

Proficiency in TIA-Portal and industrial communication protocols.

Basic programming skills.

Ability to design work methods and technical validation protocols.

Analytical capability for studying scientific publications, patents, and technical documentation. Knowledge of Process Simulate applied to assembly processes in the automotive sector, preferably with metal components, will be valued.
