What we're looking for

What capabilities are we looking for in you? 🔎

  • Solid experience in qualitative research (in-depth interviews, contextual observation, usage diaries) and in service design (journeys, blueprints, end-to-end services).

  • Demonstrable experience with complex technical services or with highly specialized technical users.

  • Ability to understand architectures, processes, and technical terminology, and to ask the questions a domain expert would ask, without pretending to be one.

  • Ability of synthesis to communicate to technical and executive audiences.

  • Autonomy to manage ambiguity and several fronts at once.

  • An AI-native way of working.

  • Advanced level of English

Nice to have

  • Education in social sciences, psychology, human factors, or complex systems design.

  • Practical knowledge of cybersecurity, cloud, data and AI, or industrial systems.

  • Experience with high technical demand profiles, such as SOC, ML engineers, or red teams.

  • Experience in B2B, telecommunications, or large organizations.

  • Genuine technical curiosity: you are interested in understanding how things work on the inside.

  • You enjoy conversing with highly advanced experts and you dare to ask them uncomfortable questions, with respect.

  • Technology is part of your life, not just a work topic.

  • Intellectual humility: you clearly distinguish what you know from what you assume.

  • Ownership and excellence with your own work.

The role

Connecting the present. Transforming the future.

Have you ever wondered what makes it possible for millions of people to be connected at the same time, from anywhere in the world, without anything failing?

At Telefónica, we make it possible.

We are a global telecommunications and technology company that connects people, businesses, and communities through next-generation networks and advanced digital solutions such as cloud, artificial intelligence, IoT, or cybersecurity.

With over 100 years of history, we work every day to ensure that innovation serves society, driving a digital transformation that is responsible, sustainable, and has real impact.

Here, we don't just design infrastructure—we design the future. We are looking for people who are curious, enthusiastic, and passionate about what they do, who never settle, and who want to build the Telefónica of tomorrow.

If you are passionate about technology that transforms lives, this is your place.

The Chief Digital Office (CDO) leads Telefónica's digital transformation by creating digital products, services, and experiences that drive efficiency, innovation, and value generation for internal and external customers. The area works in multidisciplinary environments combining product, design, technology, and data to develop scalable solutions aligned with the company's strategy.

Our design team exists so that the products and services we launch are built on real evidence and with a coherent end-to-end experience.

We work with autonomy, a high level of excellence, and in contexts of high uncertainty, where AI is changing the way we work and design.

What will your mission be? 🎯

Understand and design the experience of complex and technical services, such as cybersecurity, cloud, networks, robotics, or AI, whose users are highly qualified professionals. You will investigate how they work, what holds them back, and where the service fails, and you will convert that knowledge into design decisions that change the course of projects.

What you'll do

How will you contribute your capabilities to the purpose of the role? 💼

  • Lead research studies with high-demand technical profiles, such as SOC analysts, ethical hackers, cloud engineers, AI experts, or industrial operators. This includes methodological design, fieldwork, and synthesis.

  • Map complex services with multiple actors: journeys, blueprints, actor ecosystems, technical dependencies, and failure points.

  • Translate findings into design criteria, requirements, and recommendations that product and engineering teams can execute.

  • Question business and technical assumptions with evidence, including the ideas of domain experts.

  • Design and facilitate co-creation workshops with technical profiles.

  • Integrate AI tools into the design cycle (analysis, synthesis, prototyping) with your own judgment and human validation.

  • Contribute to the team's shared standards and templates.
