About the role

At Secrets Lanzarote Resort & Spa, you will be part of an exclusive adults-only resort, where personalized service and attention to detail make the difference. You will work in a privileged natural environment, with international standards and teams focused on excellence.

We are looking to hire a MICE Commercial and Operations Manager to lead the development, acquisition, and execution of the MICE segment at a 5-star luxury hotel in Lanzarote.

The main mission will be to position the hotel as a MICE reference in the destination, maximizing the acquisition of groups, incentives, meetings, and corporate events, while ensuring flawless operational execution and an experience aligned with the standards of a luxury establishment.

We are looking for a profile with a strong commercial focus, negotiation skills, strategic vision, attention to detail, and operational expertise to coordinate high-value events for national and international clients.

What you'll do

· Commercial development and acquisition: design and drive the hotel's MICE commercial strategy, aligned with revenue, occupancy, profitability, and property positioning objectives.

· Acquire, develop, and retain corporate clients, MICE agencies, DMCs, OPCs, companies, incentive organizers, and specialized partners.

· Manage the MICE commercial pipeline from lead generation to closing, ensuring fast response times, rigorous follow-up, and high conversion rates.

· Prepare personalized commercial proposals, quotations, presentations, and value offers tailored to each client, market, and event type.

· Negotiate commercial terms, contracts, rates, additional services, and strategic agreements in coordination with Commercial Management, Revenue Management, and General Management.

· Event operations management: coordinate the planning, organization, and execution of groups, meetings, incentives, conventions, corporate events, and private experiences.

· Act as the main point of contact between the client, agency, and internal departments, ensuring smooth communication, anticipation of needs, and excellence at every stage of the event.

· Coordinate cross-functionally with Accommodation, F&B, Kitchen, Banquets, Guest Experience, Spa, Housekeeping, Maintenance, Reservations, Revenue, and Administration.

· Supervise service orders, rooming lists, timings, setups, technical requirements, catering, activities, billing, and post-event closure.

· Revenue, analysis, and reporting: track commercial and operational KPIs: MICE revenue, conversion, production per account, profitability, pick-up, lead time, client satisfaction, and repeat business.

· Analyze results, identify improvement opportunities, and propose actions to increase revenue, optimize profitability, and strengthen the hotel's positioning in the MICE segment.

· Participate in trade shows, workshops, fam trips, sales calls, and promotional activities related to the segment, both nationally and internationally.

· Lead, coordinate, and develop the team assigned to the MICE area, fostering a culture of excellence, results orientation, and luxury service.

What we're looking for

· Minimum of 4-6 years of experience in MICE, hotel sales, groups, corporate events, or incentives, preferably in 5-star luxury resorts or properties with high operational complexity.

· Proven experience in acquiring, negotiating, and converting MICE business, combined with real operational coordination capabilities.

· Knowledge of how MICE agencies, DMCs, OPCs, companies, source markets, and national and international distribution channels operate.

· Commercial profile with a hunter/farmer mindset: ability to generate new business, develop existing accounts, and build long-term relationships.

· Strong results orientation, focus on profitability, service quality, and client satisfaction.

· Ability to work with targets, forecasts, budgets, commercial reporting, and KPI tracking.

· Excellent communication skills, professional presence, and ability to represent the hotel before premium clients.

· Strong organizational, planning, and attention-to-detail skills, with the ability to manage multiple events and projects simultaneously.

· High level of English is essential; other languages, especially German or French, will be valued.

· Availability for travel, sales calls, trade shows, fam trips, and promotional activities.

Nice to have

· Previous experience in luxury hotels, resort destinations, or properties with a significant number of rooms, dining outlets, and event spaces.

· Active client portfolio in the national and international MICE segment.

· Knowledge of Lanzarote and the Canary Islands as a destination, and its opportunities for incentives, corporate events, and premium experiences.

· Proficiency in CRM, PMS, event management systems, quotation platforms, or commercial solutions such as Delphi, Salesforce, Cvent, or similar.

· Education in Tourism, Hotel Management, Marketing, Sales, Events, Protocol, or related fields.

· Sensitivity to luxury, attention to detail, personalization, and creating memorable experiences for high-end clients.

What you'll get

· Joining a strategic project within a 5-star luxury hotel in one of the most attractive destinations in the Canary Islands.

· A real opportunity to lead the growth of the MICE segment and position the property as a benchmark for groups, incentives, and corporate events in Lanzarote.

· A position with a high degree of autonomy, visibility, and direct interaction with Commercial Management and General Management.

· A demanding, dynamic, and excellence-driven professional environment focused on service, results, and client experience.

· Competitive compensation based on experience and profile, with the possibility of a variable component tied to objectives, where applicable.

· Corporate benefits and professional development opportunities within a growth-oriented organization.
